I probably would have waited to announce this one until we'd done some better business.

Maybe this is the better business!

Far from convinced Kaminski stays with us next season. So on that basis a replacement for AMB was needed

Pity he's come here at this fraught time .. welcome Tiernan but sorry, I wish you were an experienced central defender or striker, left back, or midfield playmaker

    Talk about a budget signing.
Sorba Thomas came from Non-league and done okay. You do get some gems.

So we’ve paid a fee for a third keeper who is in to replace someone who cost us no money had had more experience.

    Just fuck off
Bit ott, he has probably cost about 30 pence... I'd guess AMB wanted to leave to play games at his age and we have signed someone on basically a free transfer as third choice with potential
We do not need three senior keepers, he takes up a squad place. It doesn’t matter how much or little money we’ve spent on him it’s a waste
Every club needs 3 senior keepers because if one gets injured you've then got your U21 keeper on the bench. I'd be surprised if there's any in our division (apart from Sheff Weds) who don't have 3 senior keepers.

I get that it's not an exciting signing but it's a third choice keeper who probably cost us about 20k.

23 is young for a keeper. I know nothing about him but hopefully he's been identified as one that they think can become a good keeper for us at this level with time. Kaminski is 33, he's probably got another 2 years in him and then with luck we will have his replacement. If not then he's a third keeper who will hopefully never play and most likely didn't cost us much

Or Mannion develops into the no1 and Brooks becomes the back up. That will be the hope, succession planning is never that easy though
  • People moaning about this, how many people can name the third choice keeper we had towards the end of last season?  Or the name of the gut we got from swindon and then released quickly?  When was the last time our third choice keeper played for the first team, other than cup games

He is young, third choice and is low risk. Welcome to Pro football, enjoy!!!!

When Cawley suggested we were being busy I was expecting to it to be a bit more exciting than this

We needed a 3rd keeper having let Ash go. Was expecting an old freebie like we got last season. Pleasantly surprised that we have shown a bit of longer term thinking and picked someone up who hopefully will develop.

Don't mind that. It makes sense that the 3rd keeper is a "prospect" happy not to be playing.

And if both our senior keepers were injured, we would be able to sign an emergency keeper, as Brooks hasn't played in the EFL.

We let Reid go out again on loan which leaves us with one keeper covering under 23 and Under 18 so we are a bit short ..  Rob Elliott behind this move good the kid if he makes it all good

Every club in the Championship have 3 keepers. why do you want CAFC to be different ? AMB needs to play after being 3rd choice and his time has come to an end.

I asked my Notts County supporting mate what he’s like and he said ‘Dunno, he never played for us.’

You don’t get intel like that on the other forum.

If we only had 2 and they were injured, we'd be able to sign an emergency loan wouldn't we? Which probably wouldn't be any riskier than starting a lad with only national league experience in the championship.

We would now but wouldn't have been able to with AMB around. Benefit of this is we can see him and decide if we need to make a move
