Playing for your country

according to the Mail this morning some St Mirren midfielder, brought up in England, is set to start for Wales on Saturday as they have taken advantage of a new UEFA or FIFA directive that you can play for a country if you went to SCHOOL there. And this guy did, going to a school in North Wales.

So the old joke that he qualified because he once went on holiday there is now not too far from the mark !!

    according to the Mail, grew up in England but went to school in Wales and the point being he only qualified for Wales because of going to school there.

    But Basey is utter shite im not surprise st mirren would walk all over us. Most importantly Sodje is playing 2mos and not for Nigeria good times :-)

    he sounds welsh, i am led to beleive he moved to wales as a toddler and stayed till he was 17. The rule has currently changed so if it changed 20 years ago giggs would have played for england and not wales.
