Think a 10 would be nice, we’re basically one Carey injury away from it being Berry or Fullah playing every game which isn’t idealsam3110 said:We need 3 players still, a left centre back that can cover LWB, a midfielder that's a clear upgrade on Anderson, Docherty and even Coventry, and ideally another attacker with pace, whether that's a winger, a striker or a number 10, I'm not sure2 -
Agree, wouldn't be surprising to see Doc and Hernandez leave, maybe even Anderson on loan.mart77 said:I think lots more movement ahead. I can see 2/3 more leaving and 3/4 more joining.
Massive week ahead as we seem to be backing Jones with a squad churn.
Hopefully no surprise sales, including not selling Mbick to Brighton.5 -
If they really want him they were never going to stop after 2 bids. This set of owners clearly see the value where Sandgaard etc. would have sold by now. I'm relatively confident that if he goes we get a good deal, I still think he'll stay thoughMarcusH26 said:Brighton still sniffing around Mbick worries me. Unless the fee is astronomical I hope the owners hold firm.1 -
The problem with letting Anderson leave is he doesn't take up a squad spot so we can't really replace him. I think he staysScoham said:

It’s a good point. Jones might fancy him at left wingback.MarcusH26 said:Brighton still sniffing around Mbick worries me. Unless the fee is astronomical I hope the owners hold firm.4 -
Personally I'd want a big upfront fee and a loan back for next season to even start considering it. They've got unlimited money anyway so let's drive a properly hard bargain.fenaddick said:

Has anyone listened to Cawley's podcast? Any new names mentioned and anything on the Kenyan CB?0

That’s a good point. Didn’t realise how close we are on the limits so probably means it will be Docherty to leave if a midfielder goesfenaddick said:

gavin carter's words were 'a progressive window' - starting to shape up so we can see what he means by progressive - big couple of days or he is going into my 'talks out of his arse' book along with Rodwell (a prize over moisturised poser) and where's chapple - does he not speak? who's responsible for this nonsense?1

The transfers out make some sense, albeit I wish Apter had had more of a chance.Athletico Charlton said:
Doesn't look great. We needed to improve substantially yet being optimistic, then imo, Dykes and Fevrier may be marginal improvements and that's about it.Callumcafc said:The window effectively so far:
- Dykes in for Olaofe
- Fevrier in for Apter
- Clarke in for Bree
- Chambers in for Edwards (inj)
- Brooks in for AMB
But the signings look so poor.1 -
fair enough - it was a silly post which i retractNabySarr said:
I loved watching Naby Sarr play and always love the cult hero type players. hence the username. The mistakes were part of the overall Naby experience, and how many players can you say you’ve seen score from 25 yards in a Charlton shirt at Wembley? Similarly I’m not going to hate Ramsay for getting sent off and costing us a win against them this season either. Mistakes happen but they were both part of great promotion winning teamsDOUCHER said:
Just out of interest, and I don’t mean this confrontationally but does the fact that nabby sarr was responsible for our last defeat at Millwall and that he scored an own goal in the previous play off final not bother u with your username ? Every time I see it I think of his failure to jump the last time at the den - it’s not good for trying to forget - same could be said of my moniker of course but at least it was about getting rid of douchatalet, not in support ofNabySarr said:
I don’t think anyone Jones wants to keep will leave this window. Could definitely see Ramsay being sold in the summer as would only have a year left, and then the Kenyan is our successorThomasOliver3 said:The Kenyan looks an interesting athletic profile, tall, pacey, progressive passing.
When I watched the highlights he reminded me of Ramsey could he be back up to him or is there more than just rumours to him leaving this month. Selling Ramsey for £3-4m feels more likely than Lloyd to me.
Maybe generating cash to spend elsewhere?0 -
i've retracted my question, it was daft - having said that, every post i've ever read of yours is dafterLeuth said:
Wow, what a lovely piece of work you are. Btw Sarr had had a storming game before that and was arguably fouled anyway, and has cult hero status for so many reasons, and was a lovely guy. Yet oh no, can't use his name for a username cos he's a Traitor or something. Pathetic mentalityDOUCHER said:

christ, its getting worsestjohnshill said:Coady deal is done. Should be announced tomorrow.2 -
I won't believe it until I read a post from you tomorrow morning saying you've got a feeling we're making a signing.CB1 said:I know it hasn’t been announced yet but Connor Coady has started following Charlton on Instagram which solidifies his signing.4 -
got to be said - other than godden i can't think of a single striker signed in his time who has been a success - i like NJ but don't think him and his coaching team specialize in the attacking side of the gameAberystwythAddick said:You can’t look at our summer window and think that Jones can be trusted to make any significant transfer decisions Apter and Tanto gone what a joke0 -
Cawley's contact says Collins Sichenje is one of the most athletic centre backs in Europe but can be a bit erratic. Cawley also calls out that his current club Vojvodina is the same club that Ivanovic joined Millwall from.0
-
He also said "I've not been told it's definitely happening but I don't think it's one you can dismiss"SDAddick said:
Collins ??? gets a mention and Cawley said he knew someone who referred to him as one of the most athletic CBs in Europe.Scoham said:Has anyone listened to Cawley's podcast? Any new names mentioned and anything on the Kenyan CB?2 -
Cawley:
"Been asked about Lloyd Jones ... whether he's gonna be sold, whether he's injured ... that's not stuff I've heard ... you can never say never, I wouldn't want to say categorically but I would be massively surprised if Lloyd Jones was allowed to go anywhere in this window ... that's if Lloyd wants to go, I'm not saying he does"1 -

Not being funny, but how can people be praising Jones for this roll of the dice? It's embarrassing, he's got it wrong from the very start!!! It would be a lot more smart to just bring a couple players in to fit a new system (well not even a new system a similar way of playing in a new formation!!!) instead of having a completely new churn of players come through the door with loads moving out to fit the same system?!?!?!?2
-
Cawley says Hernandez will be moving on0
-
Everyone: “Make some signings, any signings”
Everyone 3 hours later: “No not those ones”1 -
If I'm wrong I'll eat my words by the way, I dont like being this negative but my lord am I frustrated and I feel like I've been very patient this window and season! I'm sorry if I've snapped now!

we needed to clear the chaff out who weren't contributing, we needed to bring some pace and power in - we also needed to bring some quality in - if we've unearthed some gems in a shrewd way then well done - if we haven't and i've got to say atm i'm hugely doubtful, then i think we are down and looking for new owners coz clearly they aren't stumping up what is required to help NJ and his team - if they think we are happy to go back to league 1 whilst they spend a bit just to chip off their tax bill and have another 'on the cheap go at it next year' then they've got this badly wrong - next year will be a car crash if we are relegated - the fans will disappear in droves - this needs them to step up now or fuck off.0
-
I’m not sure it’s a case of praising Jones for some and more a case that some see the current squad as one that doesn’t look capable of keeping us up (whomever you’d like to blame for that). I think some think our best chance of staying up was either sacking Jones or keeping him and giving the squad a fresher look/shake up.CaptainBeefheart said:Not being funny, but how can people be praising Jones for this roll of the dice? I still think we could see 3/4 new faces on top of Coady by this time next week. Whether this will be good enough to keep us up gawd only knows.0 -
It's the January one. We keep being told on here it's an awful one to do business in & it's best to wait until the summer.closet_addick said:What a splendid window it has been, eh.
So June, July & August will be so much fun !1 -
There's hedging your bets and then there's just not knowing what's going onCallumcafc said:Cawley:

There's still 4 days to go of it anyway. As today proved, a lot can happen in just one day, let alone 40

And if there’s nothing going on (re: Jones) to know about?golfaddick said:
