My brother in law just told he that NJ is at the training ground now cause an opportunity as arisen for us to sign a certain player .. he did not know if the player could arrive tonight .. my brother in law had just finished training with the disabled boys

Not true. We all know Nathan Jones doesn’t leave the training ground.
must have a really shit Sat-Nav.
  • I wonder how NJ is doing ? I’m really worried about him…sleeping at the training ground and doing 15 hour days
  • Has anyone heard from Linda ?

I wonder what she has got to say about the treatment of her little lad ?

I’m just Looking out for Linda…

Just heard that the Kenyan has signed. 1.9m, pending a medical.
Being a right footed CB and with Coady also joining I get the feeling this is only happening because someone in that position is either injured longer term or being sold.

Exciting to be looking abroad though. Assuming it happens I look forward to NJ praising his “pace, power and athleticism”.
It wouldn't surprise me if Lloyd Jones is injured or needs a rest. He had been carrying a knock for weeks & like last season is probably taking injections to get through games.
Hi Lifers, long time season ticket holder here. Never posted but I read more than is probably healthy. I heard at the Chelsea game from someone with credible inside connections that Lloyd Jones has been playing with a foot stress fracture.

Given he played with similar in the run in last year this wouldn't surprise me on jot

Burke has clearly never been fully match fit.

Interesting. Not the type of injury that will be benefitted hugely by resting for one game (i.e. Leicester)... it's either take the proper time off or take the risks that come with playing through it, like it seems he has been.

Unless the plan is to avoid the potential for further aggravation this week, and then attempt play through it for three home games in eleven days (feels risky!) of QPR, Stoke and Pompey. Who knows.

Would make sense as every time he’s been quickly hauled off is when he’s had a knock on his foot…

The championship we can’t compete. Especially with our owners! It’s going to be a tough watch getting relegated. We have a very poor squad & it’s no better now than before. I’ve forgotten what a quality, fit, championship Charlton player looks like. This window is boring to say the least unless of course we sell Mbick. League 1 is where we possibly should be.
Why don't you give it a rest, you have been here since 2024 and every post you put on here is negative bollocks, you're like a vulture waiting to pick over a corpse. I told you, you are not Golfie, if you have issues, then I'm sorry but why don't you try constructive criticism, instead of the continuous rant about how shit

You’ve got quite a high opinion of yourself! You shouldn’t cry like a baby if people’s opinions differ from your own.

Whether the window is boring or interesting from our perspective I couldn’t care less, I’d prefer a boring window as it would likely mean that the team is in the right place. Having to have signed 5 (so far) players this window is worrying
So you'd rather we signed no one?

In an ideal world we would not need so many. The fact that we have had to rip it up and sign half a team is worrying

So is number 9 and I'm really surprised Dykes didn't take it and took 99 instead

He said he wasn't offered it. Maybe we aren't offering numbers of those out on loan? In which case 4 isn't free as it's Mitchell's I think

4 and 9 are not available. Despite Mitchell and Ahadme being out on loan, we registered their squad numbers at the beginning of the season.

It’s why only 19 or high numbers were available for Dykes which he asked his son and he chose 99.

If Sichenje does sign, he won’t be wearing number 4.

Unless of course Mitchell signs for Plymouth permanently before the window closes, the number 4 will then become available.

Ahadme had 9, while Alex Mitchell had 4. As neither played this season, I can't see a reason why Dykes couldn't have taken 9?

Yes it makes a certain amount of sense in terms of balancing books and squad positions etc

Obviously, I hope he is brilliant. But the signing really doesn't make sense to me at the moment and just feel there is a puzzle piece missing.

It's a position where we are well stocked: Burke, Ramsay, Clarke, Coady, Jones with Gough and Mitchell as emergency cover. I know that every area can be improved but if we don't have much to spend, I don't see why this is the position we are targeting. Additionally, with the situation we are in, I don't know if this is the type of player (unproven, seemingly a bit erratic) we should be signing for the run in.

Most likely explanations: they just really, really rate him; Lloyd injury could be bad; there are some outgoings to come in that position; we are more willing to spend than we are letting on.

Only Bell & Macca are left footed though and relying on Bell to stay fit is risky. Would be good to have competition for Macca as he's been really poor for a while now.

EDIT: apologies i was under the impression Collins was left footed!

I think the most logical explanation is Bree isn't coming back so NJ is aware that Ramsay might be needed at RWB. He then rates Sichenje higher than Gough/Mitchell as the cover for Burke/Ramsay
