Sparrows Lane normally drains very well but there's been a lot of rain since New Year. The pitches were all stripped and reseeded in the close season.
Water is collected from the pitches and pumped up the slope into a tank to be used to water the pitches when required.0 -
A number of Charlton Athletic U21s' Professional Development League fixtures have been rescheduled, with some changes to dates and venues.
Chris Lock's side will now face Millwall on Friday, February 13th at Sparrows Lane (KO 1.30pm GMT).
The U21s were originally set to host Swansea at The Valley on Monday, February 23rd. That fixture will now take place on Tuesday, February 24th at Sparrows Lane (KO 1.30pm GMT).
The young Addicks’ fixture against Colchester has also been rearranged and will now be played on Friday, April 17th at The Valley (KO 1pm GMT).
The U21s fixtures with Millwall and Colchester United will both be streamed live on Charlton TV. The young Addicks' clash with Swansea City will not be streamed, owing to the men's first-team's fixture against West Bromwich Albion also taking place on Tuesday, February 24th.
