RIP John, great character.0

Our Mum loved snooker. It was always on in the house. I watched it because of that. JV just seemed fun & when he teamed up with JD on Big Break it was just that, a bit of craic.
Rest in peace and thanks for the laughs 💛0 -
Watched him through his career as a player, entertainer (big break) and as a commentator. Always came across as a nice bloke who liked a bit of fun. Snooker commentary wont be the same anymore.

Real entertainer and THE voice of snooker since Whispering Ted. Love watching his impersonations on YouTube.0

John Parrot did a great piece on Radio 5 a few hours after the sad news was announced. JP said John Virgo was a real enthusiast about the game and his excitement was genuine when he was commenting. He also said he had lost his horse racing pal and he said John was so looking forward to Cheltenham.
My mum and Dad both passed away in 2025 and they loved watching snooker on TV and listening to John Virgo and Dennis Taylor commentating were voices they enjoyed.
RIP John Virgo0
