We need more point deductions on our rivals plus sending offs against any team we play..

Their players aren’t prepared psychologically for a relegation battle (neither are West Brom’s) so I think they are in big trouble.
  • There is a thread on how poor the atmosphere was last week because they lost to us and teams like us have no right in winning there. However, I can only imagine it will be a really good atmosphere on derby day next year against Burton Albion

    Shame it wasn't more.

I don't want to see us, WBA or Blackburn go down, but Leicester would be lovely.

Their supporters have been arrogant for years. Long before they won the Premier League.

It's all relative - they're depressed coz they 've gone from a team winning the league to a team following a well trodden path into financial chaos and league 1 misery - that's life, some will adjust to their new status, others will stop going. Oh well.

Trying to work out the punishment here.. they had a loss of over 200 million in 3 seasons, double what the profit and sustainability rules state is the maximum but only get a 6 point deduction?

This table almost needs a Sheff Weds factor to it as in who still has to play them almost feels like they have a game in hand.

Portsmouth and Blackburn have played them twice. Ironically Sheff Weds three of there last four games of the season are against ourselves, Oxford and West Brom last game.

Finish below Oxford and you're a gonner. Let the 6 team (minimum) mini league commence.

It seems the The Premier League was pushing for 20 points deduction!

6 points seems light for the crime. It is almost as if they wanted to be kind to prevent an appeal. For me these deductions should be at the start of the season.

Of course they should, total farce bringing this points reduction in at this stage of the season.

Also, not enough points deduction as you have rightly pointed out, would love to know the
reasoning behind the thinking from the powers that be.

Probably have too much to go down but still not to be sniffed at
I didn't see anything to suggest that in either of our games
Last week if they had kept 11 men in the pitch I expect they would have beaten us. First 15 mins of the 2nd half they pinned us back even though we had an extra man. Their wide players will create chances & score goals for them. Their only downside is probably their actual strikers, but I think they have enough to stay up.
They’ve come from a financial position where they should have enough quality to field 10 players in every game v 11 and still be top of the league.

I agree they should have enough to survive, but at the end of the day, they’ve cheated and got off lightly. If they go down, good riddance to them.

    From the Leicester forum:

"And that's why it was absolutely critical that we beat Oxford and Charlton at home (ffs. depresses me to even type those pathetic clubs names. And we managed to lose! both FFS!!!!!)

    Pathetic".

Battered them at home and beat them away. Enjoy League One chaps.

    Delusional. Hope they go down.
Bunch of wankers, they got off lightly

Win our game in hand against Portsmouth and we've broken away a bit

Everton got more (8 or 9 ??) But reduced to 6 on appeal. A precedent had been set for exceeding the Profit & Loss rules so the EFL probably thought it best to go with that

  • If Leicester were 9 points above West Brom, they would have got a 9 point deduction. This is a case of the efl being the efl!!

Should have been more than 6 but it is the amount that was being put out in the media. Genuinely think a 10 point deduction is fair and will act as a deterrent for future clubs who break the rules like Leicester.

Makes our next 3 games, all at home, absolutely vital in how our season is likely to pan out.

A minimum of 5 points from the 3 would mean we’d likely need 12 from our last 14. I say that as I don’t believe 50 is going to be enough this season.

I think Leicester will be ok, as they have quality players.

One of the advantages of the red card was the subbing of Decordova Reid, a very dangerous player. Choudhury then went off injured,  another good player who was immense at the earlier game at the Valley.

Although our subs in the second half worked well for us, I think they were wrong to sub Madavidi.  Their
threat then subsided to the RHS only, where we could double up on Fatawu.

Interesting the Premier League went for the full 12 and had made a compelling argument for it

Personally, I am not expecting us to go to Sheff Weds and win. It is just the sort of game we would fuck up in.

If they had a £200M loss against £39M permitted they have absolutely got an extremely lenient punishment. It should have been the maximum, which I believe to be 10 points.

Its still down to Nathan Jones to pick the correct players to pick up enough points to stay in Champship.

Next three games very important, don’t make a mistake Nathan.

They should concentrate on City’s charges and finally sort that out.

Despite our bout of defensive injuries and the disaster at the Den - it feels like the football gods are working on our side at the moment. We've and the recent run of red cards for opponents, a missed penalty against us on Saturday, and now two teams have been given points deductions this season meaning they both sit below us in the league table.

If we somehow fuck it up and get relegated from here it'll be peak Charlton.
Football gods have a cruel sense of humour. Especially when we are involved.
