We have named 24 players when we are allowed a squad of 25 so there is a vacancy.

Should help with our late play-off push.
It's mental to see that if just 3 of our 12 losses were wins, we would actually be in the play off spots right now.

Is that 25 players got an age limit?

Miles has a dreadful injury record so only having Dykes, Godden and Kelman is a risk not worth taking in our situation where goals are not easily come by. Staying up is everything so for me if he’s going to contribute to the run in then I’m all for it. Especially as he’d be playing for a contract.
We're hardly light up front, as TC can also play there, as he did last night.

Miles was missing yesterday, while Kelman didn't even come off the bench.

    Car crash injured Footballers:
Christophe Le Point, Pape Souare and Michail Antonio would make it  a hat trick !

14 months since he shattered his femur and played a league match and even by Charlton standards of taking on players with existing 'knocks' that would seem like a step too far.

Antonio wrote off 4 cars in his time at West Ham; is it fair to the people who live near Sparrows lane that Michail is on the road 😲

Probably wants to get back into the Jamacian set up?

Don't see any other reason he'd come to us.
Maybe we want to get our quota up of players away on International duty now that Anderson is elsewhere.

Or is that why we brought Dixon back (assuming he hasn't gone out on loan again).

Leicester home should've been +3, Wrexham away +1, Pompey away +1, Millwall home +2. That's 7 points that could've easily gone our way.

Then again we snatched late wins vs Watford & West Brom

It would make sense tbf: Jamaica have the play off 26th March, Antonio gets time with Bell, Campbell (and Dixon), and from our POV we get a look at him to assess if it is worth taking him on.

Most likely will sign up if Jamaica qualify imo.

    This didn't work out:

He's played his last game (July 2025) for Jamaica and an U21 match for West Ham in December. He can't be anywhere near match fitness.

If it took him a month to gain fitness he might still be a very useful addition to the squad.
Just in time for the play-offs! (What BHR said)

God no. Need a CM and would take a risk on someone in that role. But not a striker.

    I believe so.

Not seen the list but IIRC U21s don't count towards the limit

Doesn’t matter as no Championship games during international breaks anyway

I think it'd be a good signing. Not sure how much pace he still has but Dykes is showing what a striker with a bit more physicality does to the side.

And if he can do a job at WB then it allows us to rotate a bit more.

Has our club got an advert in a magazine that graces the waiting room table in some football rehabilitation centre?

I’ve never known a club to sign as many players who’ve been out with long term injuries and accidents than us
It is what my old man said about Andy Reid. If he didn't have issues, we wouldn't have been able to sign him. In his words 'the touch of a champions league player, the fitness of a Sunday League player'.

We love a good deal, no better deals than the ones we have to rehabilitate.

I can't imagine we'd make a profit, having paid his wages for 5 months!

Miles has a dreadful injury record so only having Dykes, Godden and Kelman is a risk not worth taking in our situation where goals are not easily come by. Staying up is everything so for me if he’s going to contribute to the run in then I’m all for it. Especially as he’d be playing for a contract.

We’ve struggled all season to score goal admittedly without Matty Godden for most of it but I’d still not fancy the run in with one or more of our strikers being out. A stupid risk in my opinion.

Rumours on other site Michail Antonio been seen at Sparrows Lane and could be announced on Friday should he pass a medical.

Thats why you should read charlton life instead, theres the added bonus of fish puns popping up on every thread!

If we sign him, I will get a full size tattoo of him on my back.

Disclaimer....i have no intention of following this claim through
  • I can see the angle that he’s a more experienced and higher quality olaofe. But I’ve heard the serious injuries he’s sustained has had a massive impact on his body. Worth a training kit and a short trial I guess.

We've not scored many goals, not because our strikers are missing sitters, but because we don't create many chances. Especially during the long period when we had no left wing back, to provide width down that side, as we have no creativity in central midfield.

Now we have 2 decent wingbacks, we look more threatening again.

We have 2 big number 9s in Dykes and Miles, 2 strikers to play off them in Godden and Kelman, and a striker/winger in TC. That seems plenty enough cover to fill 2 positions, and more cover than other parts of the pitch.

If we are going down the route of Higher Profile free agents I think I’d take a chance and see whether Jessie Lindgaard might be interested in a short term deal. He has been a free agent since leaving his club in South Korea. Couple of years younger and closer to the position we need imo.
