I don't think they are.

Absolutely massive game !! Win and I genuinely think we have enough of a gap to be safe and we can start thinking about next year in the championship.
i can’t see the players letting this one slip 2-0 and 3 big points2 -
There was an email from the club saying that season tickets and match by match tickets remain valid. Half season tickets are not (presumably because the original game was in the first half of the season).TootingRedArmy said:not seen anything on clubs site so just double checking are tickets bought for the orginal fixture which was abandoned valid for Tuesday night?0 -

Well lets hope they leave at 6am to be sure of getting here. We don't want the game cancelled because the opposition are stuck in a traffic jam ! Last Wednesday when we played Stoke the M25 was blocked both ways meaning some of our fans turned round and went home. There's a story on here somewhere of a fan coming from Tewksbury that didn't make it, and he left home about 1pm.Siv_in_Norfolk said:

Probably the A3(M) to be fair
Pompey fans might also be well advised to leave early though personally if driving I'd come across country and avoid the M25 completely, though I imagine most will come by train, that's if there's a train home that late !
Just checked, its either get on a Rail Replacement bus between at Petersfield & Havant, or go via Three Bridges and get home about 6am. Good luck to them, I wonder how many will come tonight ?0 -
Before we read “ it’s a must win “ it’s not it’s a must not lose after a win v Stoke and two very tough away games next .. a draw tonight would not be a bad result . Pompey are a wounded animal lots of injures, that makes them dangerous ….. they will not want to lose again .
Team news unless Leaburn back expect either Godden or Kelman to partner Dykes up top ..
prediction 2-0 to us not sure that’s my heart of head saying that but it would be fantastic if we could2 -
According to sky, we’ve all missed the game. A point closer to safety!15 -

With all their injuries I just hope we take the game to them tonight, not let them come on to us. We should win this - I'm saying 2-0 but then again we are Charlton........!0

I am nervous about tonight as I really think we need to win. If we lose, I could see us losing both upcoming away games and then Wrexham at home, our fourth match in 12 days is a tough ask.
We just need to score first imo tonight. COYA!2 -

I emailed the club as I bought 2 for friends, they resent me tickets to use for this. I assume season tickets fine, and if you still have the originals I imagine they are okay as well, particularly as the club haven’t stated anything publicly.TootingRedArmy said:not seen anything on clubs site so just double checking are tickets bought for the orginal fixture which was abandoned valid for Tuesday night?
Maybe check and email the club just to make sureAlready-purchased tickets in the home end remain valid for the rearranged fixture against Portsmouth.
The fixture was initially scheduled as a gold game. The rescheduled fixture will now be set as a silver game. Supporters who have already purchased their tickets can email tickets@cafc.co.uk to claim the difference between their initially-purchased gold category priced ticket and the silver ticket.

When I looked at the late Jan/Feb matches I thought we’d lose to Leicester & Stoke and beat QPR. This division is so hard to predict and apart from the teams at the very top and the team at the very bottom anyone is capable of beating anyone.bolloxbolder said:I am nervous about tonight as I really think we need to win. On paper, one of our easier games left this season. We need 4 more wins and this is one of the games that you would target. The gap to the bottom 3 is comforting but easily eroded so this is a key game. Even more so given some tricky ones coming up afterwards.
It's also quite likely Bell gets injured again before the end of the season so we could do with accruing as many points as we can quickly!

Portsmouth have some horrible fixtures coming up, Millwall (A) Wrexham (A) and Hull (H) followed by what will presumably be a six pointer v Blackburn at Fratton Park, so this is a golden opportunity for us to put some serious distance between us. They have a few injuries but I’m sure won’t roll over easily. We need to win this one and at all costs definitely not lose - Charlton 1 - Portsmouth 04

We started on the front foot against QPR and Stoke, no reason it should be any different tonight.CharltonManor1966 said:With all their injuries I just hope we take the game to them tonight, not let them come on to us. We should win this - I'm saying 2-0 but then again we are Charlton........!3 -
It’s not an easier game but it is the next game at a time where I think we’ve got a full complement of players who are interacting well, we’ve started getting our act together again and we are working towards a sweet spot in our teamwork and football.Athletico Charlton said:On paper, one of our easier games left this season. 1953 the first gane at the valleyi can remember it was sam bartrams 500 th game , and Portsmouth madea big fuss of it. Sam and Jimmy Dickinson cut a cake on the pitch before the game . There was alaways a good rapport between pompey fans and us , up to the early 60/s They would lay ona social evening for us after the game. So to tonight, about 1960 British Rail laid on 2 special trains from Charlton direct to Fratton Park. I wasa school boy and went, We Lost 4 nil , honestly it could have ben 40 nil . That game has haunted me ever sinceI dont say its a must win game to day , but any addick fan would always want them to win , but it is a must not lose game . We need to rely on ourselves to keep out of trouble We just need to take some of those chances that occur,so roll on this eveninng , come on you reds !5

Maybe the football Gods are finally smiling on us.
This is the third game in a row where our opponents' line up has been decimated by injuries.
We really need to take full advantage of our good luck tonight. I have a funny feeling we will.2 -
A sad night given the loss of Norm at the previous game - the result doesn't seem so important.
I hope him and Seb get to watch the games....10 -

seem to be a lot of strangely confident people on here, which is when we tend to let ourselves down so hopefully Nathan has inserted the required rockets into the players and they come out ready to respond.
As several have said it is not really a must-win but certainly more of a "please don't lose" however a victory would put us into the 40's and that's a pretty big milestone and would be a very decent return given the high forties are usually safety.
This remains one of the toughest, most competitive and most watched leagues in the world so staying up by the skin of our teeth is still a massive achievement when we think back over the shambles of the last 10-15 years.15 -

They are 4th bottom with one win in 5, and 14 injured. On paper it is delivery definitely one of the easier games.3 -
50 points still remains the target as far as I'm concerned.
With the amount of injuries Pompey have I fully expect to get 3 more points towards that total tonight.
Charlton 3 Pompey 1.3 -

If 50 points is the target (I think it should probably be 52) then a win realistically puts us pretty much out of trouble. We’d only need something like 0.6 points per game for the rest of the season which, given our relatively gentle last month of the season, should be more than achievable.blackpool72 said:50 points still remains the target as far as I'm concerned.

Charlton 3 Pompey 1.
I know, I know, this is Charlton and nothing is certain until it’s certain etc, but this does feel like a massive opportunity.1 -
This really is an important game.0

This has got 0-1 to a scrappy goal late on all over it. Hope I’m wrong!!0

They are a very competitive side but have struggled to get results their performances (may) have warranted throughout the season. The state of the respective squads gives us a huge advantage; we are in a much better position compared to the abandoned game earlier this year and their injuries cannot be overlooked. Out of the 14 injured, five or six of those are starters. They had a tough game on Saturday with a crushing late loss, whereas we have had nearly a week off to enjoy a victory. On paper, we have the clear edge.
However, the longer it stays at 0-0 this could easily turn into a cagey game where both teams will be scared of making a mistake and happy to let the other team have the majority of the ball. If that is the case, it will be interesting to see how we fare breaking a team down. Typically they do like to be patient with the ball, but with their injuries and the context of the game I wonder if they may consider a more defensive approach. Pompey are very bad at defending set pieces which led to an inevitable onslaught in their recent game v Arsenal. Against Leicester we had a perfectly good set piece goal ruled out and could've easily scored two from corners v Stoke; I would like to think we can take advantage there. In terms of their threats, with a number of players out it seems Alli and Bishop are the two attacking players of note. I'd like to think Ramsay and Clarke can do a job on Alli and Bishop is the type of forward Jones will battle all night with, and I'd back Lloyd to come out on top.
We've been starting games well lately after traditionally being strong finishers under Jones. Hopefully this week we can capitalise on a good start by actually scoring during that spell and avoid any late game stress. I would imagine Jones will go for a very similar team, with the only spot up for debate likely to be Godden's. No changes at the back or in midfield. I'd assume Jones sticks with Dykes and a runner (one of Godden/Kelman/TC) to provide a varied threat to the Pompey backline. I would start with Dykes and Godden. I think his reading of the game is streets ahead of Kelman's at this stage and with him in the game you feel like he only needs half a chance. Hopefully Leaburn is fit and in the squad, he was looking like such a handful pre injury and I'd like to see Leaburn and TC come on around 65/70mins to freshen it up. I'd also want Fullah on the bench in case we are in need of some creativity late in the game.
I think we will win 2-0.3 -
I can safely speak for everyone when I say..we all hope you are wrong!Weegie Addick said:This has got 0-1 to a scrappy goal late on all over it. Hope I’m wrong!!3
