Shame we are playing on grass in that case and not paper…Athletico Charlton said:letthegoodtimesroll said:
It’s not an easier game but it is the next game at a time where I think we’ve got a full complement of players who are interacting well, we’ve started getting our act together again and we are working towards a sweet spot in our teamwork and football.Athletico Charlton said:On paper, one of our easier games left this season. We need 4 more wins and this is one of the games that you would target. The gap to the bottom 3 is comforting but easily eroded so this is a key game. Even more so given some tricky ones coming up afterwards.
It's also quite likely Bell gets injured again before the end of the season so we could do with accruing as many points as we can quickly!
They are 4th bottom with one win in 5, and 14 injured. On paper it is delivery definitely one of the easier games.1 -
Remember there are no trains through Dartford tonight.0
-
With our healthy gap, obviously we would want to win but this is just a don’t lose it game4
-
Can't help but be a bit nervous about this. Yes they've got injuries but this kinda feels like a banana skin. Early goal to settle it down please.
2-0 win Godden and TC5 -
Think we'll get a 2-0 win tonight

This is must not lose.
Not sure I like the amount of over confidence on this thread. Charlton Life history tells you that never ends well.
They wont just roll over and they havent actually been playing badly in recent games.10 -
Will be a very close game and despite their injury list no doubt they will set up.to hit us on the break. We do owe them for their late win at Fratton Park when we were arguably the better team. 1-1 and a very good point indeed.1
-
It might sound negative but i'd be happy with just avoiding defeat not that i don't think we can win. Losing will be bad news.
I'm going for a desmond - 2-2 (Godden & Dykes)0 -
You are being very dismissive of people who dont go to games.Firstly, night games are a pain in the arse, especially 3 in two weeks, supporters may have long trips,(I live in medway,60 mile round trip).Factor in the fuel cost,if you are not a season ticket holders, its £30.00 a pop,so possibly £50-60 plus any child or wife and you quickly run up a bill. Also some may have early work starts. You then have parking problems,I wont be there tonight, normally,I have a reserved space in someones drive, when the game was rearranged, someone jumped in before me.I used to park in Canberra Road, now due to the new restrictions near the ground, everybody else has the same idea, meaning getting parked two hours before the game.I am not leaving home at 4.30 for a 7.45 KO,and no doubt many of the fairweathers,as you call them will feel the same. You can also bet the A2 will be at a standstill on the way home.At 82 years old,I will not be taking a look at myself,I have done the hard miles,Crewe and Newcastle etc. on tuesday nights,it pains me to not go to games, the decision is not taken lightly and I can do without being dug out by people like you.DOUCHER said:Positives: they've had less time to recover, they've picked up 2 more injuries, we're looking really solid and seem to have re-found a formula that gets results, we're due some luck after that 90 odd minute disaster Negatives: football don't work like that and will kick you right in the bollox plus i'm going to southampton saturday so a midweek deflater is inevitable. Oh, and hope the fairweathers that went missing against stoke take a look at themselves and get down there to support the team.15 -

they are shit on the road, we're decent at home, we'll win, 42 points on the board, and nearly there2

You're 82, you are excused. Took me 30 minutes from the final whistle to pull onto my drive in Sidcup after the Stoke game. Not you obviously but others - don't grumble about the team not putting in the effort or the owners not stumping up if you don't do your bit.thickandthin63 said:

I'm 78 and get home in Ramsgate at midnight now. When I was on the train it was 00.50 at Ramsgate station. then 30 mins walk home unless I had a lift. The coach drops me 100 yards from home.3

Is Balmoral part of Sidcup? Unless i've missed something, no.Bedsaddick said:

Strangely enough with our excellent record at their ground our record at the valley is not good .. generally a draw ..0

Good man - ultimately each to their own - i go coz i want to and so should everybody and i also appreciate some have been more committed down the years than they maybe are now, for whatever reason - but if you're umming and arrghhing whether to watch at home on a dodgy stick or Sky, get down there! Don't listen to those talking nonsense about the crowd not affecting things. The team, manager, owners - everybody - will be far more encouraged by a full stadium than a half empty fairweather effort and should remember that when grizzling about lack of signings, losing our best players, being back in league 1 and all the other shite that people who live their lives grizzling on forums find to moan about. Anyway, this has been done to death. If you can't be arsed for tonights game, you never will be.CombeMartin said:I'm 78 and get home in Ramsgate at midnight now. Every time you come out with this dig of yours about our fans not attending to the levels you expect, you end up having to follow it up with posts that you didn't mean this type type of fan or that type of fan. How about you just focus on yourself enjoying every game you go to and let everyone else get on with attending as many games that there life allows. No need for you to dig out fans you don't know several times per season.DOUCHER said:

Another must not lose game and I think it will be a point on the board for both teams come the final whistle. Looking forward to a big game under the lights. Can't beat it. UTA.0

Midweek, under The Valley floodlights, has to be good, I can see a comfortable(ish) 3-0, with Godden Ole Ole getting on the scoresheet for his first of the season.
Remembering the away game and that farcical finish, and the replays over and over again on Radio Solent,😒 (I live on the South Coast), anything else would be unbearable...🙏1 -
I have cancer and mobility problems and I’m only 57 . I can’t do games when it’s cold or transport is limited but I still get to matches more often than not and I live sixty miles away . Am I making excuses or can’t I be arsed ?DOUCHER said:

Were any of the owners there v Stoke ? If not why not. Only a hop and a skip across the Atlantic. They’ve obviously no real interest in us. You’d think they’d do their bit too wouldn’t you. Players must feel very down.DOUCHER said:

Yep. Let's win it for Norm.Stig said:I know we only saw twelve minutes, but I've a feeling that we'd have lost this fixture if it had been played out to the end back in December. I've got a good feeling that we will win tomorrow. It may just be a bit of weird sentimentality, but I can think of no better tribute to Norm.4 -
Stinking head cold, covered head to toe in mud after slipping and sliding down a muddy hill, saw a Red Robin and we lost the last matchday I saw one, Pompey have 42 injuries…I know which way this one is going8

I emailed the club as I bought 2 for friends, they resent me tickets to use for this. I assume season tickets fine, and if you still have the originals I imagine they are okay as well, particularly as the club haven’t stated anything publicly.TootingRedArmy said:not seen anything on clubs site so just double checking are tickets bought for the orginal fixture which was abandoned valid for Tuesday night?
Maybe check and email the club just to make sureAs an FYI, this doesnt apply if you bought the stream for the original fixture. Despite there only having been a few minutes played, if you want to stream this one you will have to pay again.(per email response from Kai Bron at streamamg.com. Poor, if you ask me)

Hopefully the scum bags in the away end are a bit more respectful of Norm during the applause tonight3

As you suggest I've had a good look at myself but will not be there tonight due to my physical disability which according you makes me a fairweather supporter - thank you DoucherDOUCHER said:Positives: they've had less time to recover, they've picked up 2 more injuries, we're looking really solid and seem to have re-found a formula that gets results, we're due some luck after that 90 odd minute disaster Negatives: football don't work like that and will kick you right in the bollox plus i'm going to southampton saturday so a midweek deflater is inevitable. Tough game this one, I really thought we would beat QPR and then struggle against Stoke. Has to be better subs on Wednesday.
(Just writing what I wrote on the Stoke preview for luck)1 -
