Good evening fellow Addicks

Tonight we enter the third of our current trilogy of home matches, and tonight it's a visit of Portsmouth, there's nothing quite like an evening match under The Valley floodlights to get the juices flowing, as we go in search of our fourth clean sheet in a row, and third win, a great haul of seven points from the last three matches could soon be ten tonight…🙌

Josh and Harvey are long term ansentees as we know, we can only hope Miles is available after his shoulder injury and makes the bench tonight, Portsmouth look decimated with injuries with 14 listed as being sidelined, we really do need to put them to the sword tonight…

Portsmouth are our most-played opponents, having locked horns on 114 times, winning 40 , Portsmouth 44, and the remaining 30 encounters ending all square, they ran out 2-1 victors in the reverse fixture at Fratton Park in December 2025, surely we cant forget that sucker punch winner after we switched off too early…not again.

Leigh Doughty will be the man in the middle tonight…

Team news…Miles Leaburn returns to the starting line-up for tonight’s fixture against Portsmouth

The striker replaces Matty Godden, who misses out with a hamstring injury, as Nathan Jones makes one change to the team that beat Stoke City last week.

Kayne Ramsay, Lloyd Jones and Amari’i Bell once again start in a back three in front of Thomas Kaminski.

Harry Clarke and Luke Chambers will operate as wing-backs while Conor Coady, captain Greg Docherty and Sonny Carey will play in midfield behind Leaburn and Lyndon Dykes.

Will Mannion, Macaulay Gillesphey, Collins Sichenje, Conor Coventry, Joe Rankin-Costello, Luke Berry, Jayden Fevrier, Wednesday’s match-winner Tyreece Campbell and Charlie Kelman all make up an unchanged substitutes bench.

Charlton: Kaminski; Ramsay, Jones, Bell; Clarke, Coady, Docherty (c), Carey, Chambers; Leaburn, Dykes

Subs: Mannion, Gillesphey, Sichenje, Coventry, Rankin-Costello, Berry, Fevrier, Campbell, Kelman

No Godden tonight…hammy injury…🤦‍♂️

One thing I love about NJ, we play good football by our usual standards the last couple of games, and then he goes back to the two big men up top.

Nice to have a strong and balanced bench though.

Was Godden a big part of that football last game though? I’m not sure he was

Is Godden ok? not even on the bench, surely worth a place over Berry

Dykes and Leaburn were lethal against Leicester. Leaburn would have started vs QPR & Stoke if he was fit. I said on the Antonio thread that Dykes and Leaburn are quite clearly the preferred duo.

I wouldn’t say Leaburn is a big target man in the mould that Dykes is. I would probably go as far as to say Leaburn is one of the best strikers with ball at feet in our squad . Time will tell. COYR

Shame for Godden, hopefully not a serious one or we may not see much more of him.

No, listened to that. First I've heard it was now. Maybe Cawley has posted it?

Happy with the team and the options on the bench. A stinking cold has prevented me attending tonight, so the football isn't the only thing streaming in this house tonight, C'mon you reds.

It’s in the latest team news in the app.
  • Need some decent crosses in tonight from the wingbacks for Dykes and Leaburn against 2 smaller 6ft centre backs. Fancy a win tonight COYR's
