    Canvey Island, my office is 10 feet away from my front door.
    I run a Sheltered Housing complex for the elderly.
    The nearest thing I see to a traffic jam is getting stuck behind a wheelchair or zimmer frame.
    Would you believe I'm still late for work at least once a week!

    P_Air - Dunno how to quote from a previous page, but im in the deciding process of whether to do it. Just not sure i can afford to make the financial sacrifice to get the time to do it, especially for 3 years. How long did it take you to decide? how many hours are you doing per week?

    Creepy & Valleygary.

    Its a tough decision and 70% will drop out. It will consume your life and you'll have to make sacrifices as I'm already finding out. Personally, because the time and financial commitments are so big, I believe its something you have to be 150% committed to before you even start.

    One piece of advice i took was try before you buy. I got my scooter, got the first 16 runs and run them and loved it. Also you can get yourself down to the free talks at one of the K schools (I'm in and out of Wizann a lot getting advice). You'll get loads of advice and it's an eye-opener to what's involved.

    I'm working full time but I'm hoping to go full time on the K at some point. Want to try and get my rec in 3 years. Good luck to you both and let me know how you get on.

    Valleygary. I understand re the deciding process. It took me a long time, but in the end it's a lifestyle change for me in the main. I can work for myself as I've had enough of working for someone, plus the hours are the most flexible you can get! Cost wise, I bought a brand new scooter, all the gear, maps, the 1st blue book module, more maps and lots of petrol to cover those miles! Add to that you've got the cost of the actual application and medical, plus fees for the map test and appearances. Time wise, I'm averaging 12 runs a week. Studying and penning them up during the week then running them on a weekend, although I have run some direct from work. As I said, it's all-consuming but I'm loving it and will get my badge!     I was in Glasshouse St until last Christmas, then we got moved up to Fouberts Place (basically on top of Hamleys)
