It's bizarre why games don't alternate home and away like they used to, which would avoid these really short turnarounds between consecutive away games.

We now have 2 away games (Soton and WBA), followed by 2 home games (Wrexham and Brum), followed by 2 away games (Boro and Oxford). AND there's a week between the home games, but only 3 days between the away games.

Yikes, relegated by mid-March! That 7/1 from the bookies in the other thread is looking good value.
  • Might be the case Jones has to put a weakened side out at Boro and save his strongest available XI for Oxford

Why couldn’t we have played Oxford midweek and boro away on the Saturday or is that just being ridiculous 🤷🏼‍♂️

You would think that those that organise the fixture list would be able to arrange things that way.
I've always wondered why distance to be travelled by teams for midweek fixtures isn't limited to say 150 or 200 miles.

It should be limited by the time it takes to travel by public transport from ground to ground; and whether there is in fact scheduled public transport running up to one hour after the final whistle.

I am not affected by this but is it really fair that someone who has held a season ticket for 2 years (460 loyalty points) AND been to 15 away games (150 loyalty points) is STILL below the pecking order for someone who is only a member of Valley Gold?

The cost of going to 15 away games alone is way above the cost of Valley Gold for 2 years.

    I just don't get it.

I think it’s deliberate. Attractive games at weekends where bigger crowds are likely, less attractive ones in midweek.

All of which goes into the pocket of the host side.

Quite possibly. Teams like Boro, Hull and the Sheffield clubs will always have a decent midweek turnout here due to their London-based numbers whereas only our hardiest travellers will be able to get up there.

Going to 15 away games over 2 years is pretty good but I suspect you are probably not alone in being able to claim that. The number of points per phase seems to keep rising, reflecting how many fans are now going to away games. STs and VG seems an even more sensible way of prioritising sales now than they have in the past

Valley Express will be making one stop at Larkfield to drop off those coming back from Boro before going straight back out to Oxford.

No idea how the club can justify charging £30 to Oxford and £35 to Middlesbrough.

Any of you mystic megs out there reckon this gets to phase 8?  I need 3 tickets but can buy 2 in phase 7 and 2 in phase 8... Not sure if I should just get 2 in phase 7 to guarantee some of us go or wait till phase 8 to get them together?
(All assumes it makes phase 7 of course)!

This game will certainly sell out, although the 12:30 kick off may put some people off.

We're in the same boat ticket wise. I think it's best to get 2 in Phase 7 and the 3rd in Phase 8 (assuming there are some left). If so, it should be possible to get seats reasonably close to each other.

Yeah I think the same but the issue is the other two are kids so it's not quite as easy as trying to find one near.  May have to pick my fav kid again!

Know what you mean!  Few games ago I was phase 1 or 2.  Now I’m in 5 but will probably wait til 7 to get all tickets together
  • I wonder why this "change " is kicking in at this point in the season ...

    Anyone have a suggestion?

Probably because our away support has increased & many fans are attending away games more regularly including the more distant away games, there are probably a lot more fans with more than 620 points.
It is a pity that the clubs with smaller away capacities are all located in the south which makes these games more difficult for less regular away fans to get tickets.

To be honest, I don’t think it’s anything to do with the point in the season. It’s just a big, localish game with a low allocation.

This is exactly the reason so that the fans with most points get priority for a game with a fairly small allocation.

For our three recent away games which all had a 3k+ allocation (Millwall, Leicester and Southampton), phase 1 opened at 610 points.

Unfortunately with the low allocation this will almost certainly sell out before my phase. Would love to take my Dad as this fixture was our first away game together, if there's a couple of spares floating about I'd be happy to pay a bit more than the going rate :)

The points per phase will always increase during the season, as it resets every summer. It's not a rolling 2 year calculation, it's the current  season and last season, and we've had over half a season for fans to earn points.

For those looking to buy today, I’d say only about a 1/3 of tickets have gone in the first 6 phases, so lots of opportunity still.
