Not sure where marsupials fit into the recruitment system.Alwaysneil said:Rooes for nathan's mates all good, roles for methven's mates, not so good0 -
I can’t remember where I heard it, (might be from Chris Powell) but i do remember Someone singing his praises years ago, that he was incredibly hard working, and used to do 100,000 miles a year, driving up and down the country, actually scouting potential players, which in my book, would be a big win.1

Remember speaking to him when he was with us before.Swisdom said:I really hope he’s back, the man is an encyclopaedia of footballers in this country.
i saw him a few times in the Directors box last season and he is always up for a chat but also VERY guarded about who he is looking at.A very professional man who would be a great fit for us. Fingers crossed
Ask him about a reserve full back in league 2 and he'd know their stats, strengths, weaknesses and inside leg measurenent.7 -
I had the same experience. I mentioned Kevin Alcock at Peterborough and he replied off his vital statistics, performance statistics and a bit about his private life too. Seriously knowledgeable and impressive man. Would be an assetHenry Irving said:

Roles for people chosen by NJ who has a good record of success at this level and knows what he wants and needs from "his" team is a very different thing to roles for Charlie the Chancer whose favours mostly seem to be dictated by his bank balance.Alwaysneil said:Rooes for nathan's mates all good, roles for methven's mates, not so good3 -
I've no idea how much of a finger Phil Chapple had in last summers' recruitment pie but I'm sure he had a big old one in the January window. And a January one which is widely acknowledged as always difficult.
I think the guys who have came in last month have made us a lot better. Despite some awful periods of play we've been on a pretty good run of points achieved and, for example, I really like the look of Collins S and Dykes.
So bring on staying in this league and roll on to summer, I'm really looking forward to it........ it gives me something to look forward to and goodness knows sometimes that is much needed!8
