Actions have consequences. The
repercussions of these strikes are enormous for the whole world. They affect air travel, holidays, world trade, oil prices. Everyone will feel the effects, the World Cup included.0 -
And suspect the Formula One in Bahrain (April 12th) and Saudi Arabia (April 19th) will be moved/cancelled...ME14addick said:Actions have consequences. The

Quite possibly if this becomes a protracted war.0

Big sporting events are always targets for terrorists - the World Cup will be no different and security will be at the forefront. It would be a target wherever it was held and there was a plot foiled in Berlin ahead of the Euro final in 2024 (in a square where we were drinking as well!).Long time to go yet but I hope it will be a goer - especially as we've spent a fecking shed load on flights, hotels and tickets!0 -
I wonder what Jonjo is thinking?3

I’m not sure he’s capable of thinking for himself ..SuedeAdidas said:I wonder what Jonjo is thinking?4 -
Things should be fine in Canada. Not looking too pretty in the other 2 countries.

Might depend on which countries Trump decides to Attack / Invade / Annex / Buy between now and the kick-off.1

I'm more concerned about all the unnecessary deaths and destruction. Nobody learns from history...4

When a rogue state led by an unhinged despot, committing uncountable atrocities on its own citizens as well as others', is prevented from playing a tournament, I think we can say that'd be a pretty good thing.
Especially if they're the host nation13 -

Nice to see the ‘No politics’ rule being observed4

Oh, I got that in knowing this is going to be locked in around 45 seconds4

I think I’d be more worried if I were going to games in Mexico. The amount of deaths in certain host cities due to drug cartel ‘wars’ is very scary.
I didn’t hear the beginning of the piece but some ‘expert’ on Talksport this morning thought the World Cup was in jeopardy.0 -
It may or may not be political but wars affect all of us. Expect oil prices to rise, trade to be disrupted, holidays to be cancelled and many people killed and be placed in greater danger. When a wounded animal is cornered, it is at its most dangerous and that goes for both sides in this terrible war.0

I really would appreciate it if people didn’t try to shoehorn the topics we’ve made clear we don’t want to cover on here via alternative routes, many thanks6
