looks as if they’ll be on sale soon, if the adds on the Digi’boards and big screen are to go by!
‘This is what commitment looks like’ the strap line👀

Let’s hope they try an approach that will sell a lot more STs this time.3

Any insiders know if there is truth behind the Jimmy Seed becoming a Charlton end again, away fans to be moved to the West or Curbs stands and safe standing to be installed properly in the corner next to the CE?
Or is all of the above “terrace talk”?3 -
That sounds like a a nonsense idea, how will people get to and from the bars, or the fan zone if 3000 away fans are trying to get in and out of the west stand at the same time as home fans getting to these facilities, and of course the facilities in the away end not that great.VanbrughHill said:Any insiders know if there is truth behind the Jimmy Seed becoming a Charlton end again, away fans to be moved to the West or Curbs stands and safe standing to be installed properly in the corner next to the CE?

There was precautions taken for this season, to allow away fans to be housed in the West Upper - on account that an away following was small enough. But since promotion to the championship brings large away followings, this hasn’t been utilised.VanbrughHill said:Any insiders know if there is truth behind the Jimmy Seed becoming a Charlton end again, away fans to be moved to the West or Curbs stands and safe standing to be installed properly in the corner next to the CE?

No insider but it makes no sense. We have to offer away teams a minimum 2,000 tickets we can't segregate either Curbs or West Stands this way due to facilities and stands layout so would all feel a complete non-starter to me.VanbrughHill said:Any insiders know if there is truth behind the Jimmy Seed becoming a Charlton end again, away fans to be moved to the West or Curbs stands and safe standing to be installed properly in the corner next to the CE?

They talked about it before during the director talks they were going to trial it for a few games this season if we were in L1 but now we’re in the championship they’ve gone back on it. It made no sense to give away fans that end when you had 150 fleetwood fans but when you get 2,800 fans it’s hard to justify because you would be sacrificing a lot of revenue otherwiseVanbrughHill said:Any insiders know if there is truth behind the Jimmy Seed becoming a Charlton end again, away fans to be moved to the West or Curbs stands and safe standing to be installed properly in the corner next to the CE?

Agree. There was some talk about making the zones simpler. If they re-zone say the Curbs Stand and either make it less zones or even one zone they aren’t going to use the current cheaper zones as the price point.AFKABartram said:

If the centre zones of the Curbishey and West stands come in near the £700 mark - and I suspect they will - good luck with your hope of selling more STs!letthegoodtimesroll said:Let’s hope they try an approach that will sell a lot more STs this time.7 -
Quite.AFKABartram said:
I fear the oppositeletthegoodtimesroll said:Let’s hope they try an approach that will sell a lot more STs this time.I suspect the casual reference to a £3m investment (of which wasn’t some from a grant?) in the dugout / ground / pitch improvements story was part paving way the way for ticket price increases. The immediate hike this year upon success at Wembley shouldn’t be forgotten. They are chasing new not existing / lapsed supporters.3 -

I get prices increase each year. Call me old fashioned but I think loyalty should minimise any such increase to current ST holders. I want to feel valued as a ST holder.10

As a current season ticket holder, I expect to pay last seasons post early bird ticket price for my season ticket.
I would expect the 2026/2027 post early bird price to be 4% to 5% higher .3 -
So Covered End Upper (Zone 2) was: -msomerton said:As a current season ticket holder, I expect to pay last seasons post early bird ticket price for my season ticket.

£485 from 20 March
£495 from 3 May
£550 after the play-off final.
Are you saying that you would expect to pay the 3 May price?
0 -
yes the 3rd of May price.1
-
I don't know how likely that is.msomerton said:yes the 3rd of May price.
Think it's probably going to start at £550 for zone 2.0 -
That would mean next years ST will be cheaper than this years for those that bought after Wembley i.e. it’s not going to happenmsomerton said:yes the 3rd of May price.1 -
Not going to happen. You can expect to pay at least £550, probably more, in my opinion.msomerton said:yes the 3rd of May price.1 -
Any idea how much it would have cost to do walk ups for every home game so far in the NU ?
Was £35 on Saturday, that could end up being £38 next year and 40 the year after.0 -
Probably around £750, not including any £1.50 online transaction fees.shine166 said:Any idea how much it would have cost to do walk ups for every home game so far in the NU ?

I think the hard sell with a ST for the modern game, is the inconsistent kick off times. Leads you to doing more walkups which long-term is in the clubs favour, just means they don't get that financial bump before the season starts.

The club got away with a lot of fans not fully realising the impact the tv sell out would have this season. They might find it a lot harder to get fans to renew this time around now everybody understands the extent of how many games they can sit at home and watch and just how relatively few Saturday 3pm home games they would need to buy a ticket for and fork out for travel.shine166 said:I think the hard sell with a ST for the modern game, is the inconsistent kick off times. they need to simplify the choice of zones and drop the prices of early bird season tickets.
they should also make the upper north zone 1 as well. A packed out Covered End is crucial for the team.Get it wrong this time and that 14k gate we saw for the Stoke game will be a lot more common next season.9 -
…and, sell a tipping point number of STs and it reduces the number of tickets available for match by match basis, day trippers and, crucially, away fans. Supply and demand will mean those tickets will more easily absorb higher prices so that when relegated PL teams like Spurs are charging PL prices for Championship football next season Charlton can reciprocate .letthegoodtimesroll said:

I think there was one year we had 6 different pricing zones, and the family stand (so technically 7)
Should be 3 zones, the 4 blocks on the halfway line on either side of the pitch should be the most expensive.
Then the end block of each side West Lower and Curbs, the corners, the whole of the CEL, and the top 2 end blocks on either side of the West Upper should be the cheapest.
The leftover blocks in the West and Curbs, and the whole of the Covered End Upper should then be the middle tier of pricing.

Covered End always sells well, they are more likely to bump prices up rather than reduce them. Wasn't there info put out by the club recently about limiting the amount of STs in certain areas ? I imagine thats to make more money from walk ups in places like the North Stand.letthegoodtimesroll said:

I'll qualify for the old codgers rate next season so should save £100 to £120 based on last years rates.0
-
£700 minimum to watch us have 30-40% possession again next season.7

Personally, if I was one of the clubs owners I’d prefer the management to be more concerned about at least maintaining Championship status and going for promotion than being able to squeeze extra money out of the Covered End 23 times a season. A packed and noisy Covered End will help Nathan and the team collect more points over the course of the season than a half empty one or one full of tourists.shine166 said:

besides, if the ticket sales each match start with an already sold out (7k) Covered End then that will put a bit of urgency in to getting the next best preferable seats and make the game more of an attraction for those buying on a match by match basis.

They need revenue in order to make more money so that they can invest more into the squad. People may not want to hear it but what’s going to increase our chances of our survival is having a bigger budget not extra people in seats.letthegoodtimesroll said:

Looking forward to another “price freeze” that’s actually an increase, even more of an increase this year too2

Was it this week we will hear about it?0
