There it is again. Samson gets MOM for 89 off 42 (SR 211.90). So that was a better performance than Bethell's 105 off 48 (SR 218.75) ????

Now I'm sure that this is a pure coincidence but both Brian Bennett and Jacob Bethell outperformed all of the Indian side but didn't get MOM. Sikander Raza received the MOM despite being on the losing side but then he was playing against South Africa and not India.

It's not a big deal I guess but It is a joke and it's not the first time. Who is even deciding who gets the MOTM??

Scorecard doesn't suggest it but Bumrah won that game for India

And the two big fielding moments. Brook dropping Samson, Axar/Dube catching Jacks.

It’s an odd one because in my experience, in any other context, I find India and Indians absolutely delightful and charming.
    Wonderful culture. Wonderful people.

But when it comes to cricket, they are the most obnoxious, self-centred, arrogant pricks.

Someone said earlier that they’d cheer the Aussies on against them. Absolutely right. I’ve cheered Australia on against them for years now. The Aussies may be cocky and smug, but there’s humour there and it’s light hearted and fun. Indian players, pundits and fans are absolutely insufferable. It’s like they want to be involved in the banter, but don’t know how to do it without behaving like massive arseholes. I enjoy nothing more than seeing them turned over, especially in their own backyard.

    Come on New Zealand.

Will be interesting to see what the side looks like for the T20 series against India in July. Think we might have seen the last of Buttler and Dawson and I'd be having serious thoughts about Jamie Overton and Salt going forward.

hopefully they build the team around Bethell, Banton, Jacks, Ahmed etc.

No Buttler, Salt, Overton, Dawson for me and not sure about Archer to be honest

Loyalty is a fine thing but Butler has been so out of form. The same with Salt. I thought they stuck with them for too long.

I don’t think I’ve found any England player as annoying/frustrating as Brook. He’s brilliant on his day but just seems to have a brain fart too often or generally lose concentration and not convinced with him being skipper in any format.

I wonder if Buttler will announce his international retirement now?
    It’s probably time .

Jofra only needed two more balls!
Imagine there being a no-ball in that over & Jofra smashing the extra one for 6 !

A great effort by England to get so close.

To be honest, I find it hard to get too bothered about T20 WCs, as they come around so often, and realistically so few countries can ever win it. It's a 1 in 8 or 9 chance, every 2 years that we'll win another.

Because they are so frequent, there's no real sense of building up to a WC, and then stepping back afterwards. That's highlighted by New Zealand hosting South Africa in a 5 match T20 series, starting on the 15th March! Exactly a week after the WC final, NZ will be playing the same format against the team they defeated in the semis.
