As revealed by Sportsmail, Barton took exception to a comedy skit performed by Evans at a team meeting and the pair got into a heated row following last month's 1-0 defeat at Swindon Town.

Sounds like Evans took the piss out of Barton and Barton wasnt happy 🤣🤣

The last time we played Burnley at the Valley, Barton dominated the midfield .. I still reckon it was because our players were too scared to get too close to him ((:>)

Would love to know who the other candidates were for the Bristol  Rovers job, that Barton was preferred over.

He did a pretty decent job as Fleetwood manager. Ignoring the baggage, he's well qualified for the Brizzle job

story in today's S/Times .. Barton at Newcastle when Shearer was the manager and Dowie his assistant .. 1/2 time, Shearer was bollocking Barton for what was described as a 'coward's tackle' .. it got VERY heated and Dowie intervened .. 'Who the feck asked you boxing glove ead' was Barton's response to Dowie .. shows that Barton is not all bad ((:>)

Totally missed that Barton had been appointed manager of Bristol Rovers until I saw him tweet last night celebrating the win (which seemed totally random without the aforementioned context!).

His the situation with the incident involving Barton and the Barnsley manager been resolved? Surely Barton wouldn’t have been hired if it hadn’t?

All going well he could be the first manager on the touchline via Zoom from his cell.

It's taken so long to come to court that Barton is working for a different club, while Barnsley are on their 2nd manager after Stendel!

exactly .. off topic a bit ..  there is a lot of concern that violent criminals are still awaiting trial and others given lenient sentences because of the risk of Covid spreading in prisons. In general the pandemic has meant that many case will have to wait for two, even three or four years before getting a hearing

Also victims don't get access to the support they need until after the hearing, obviously I don't it's relevant in this case but

From his previous sentencing in December over social media posts, when he was given six months in custody, suspended for 18 months.

"The sentence handed to him today comes with a number of strict conditions and should he breach these in any way he may face the prospect of time behind bars."

And here we are just 3 months later.........

He needs psychological help. How many times is he going to do this? I feel a long custodial sentence is inevitable.

He also got a 12 week suspended sentence last year for assaulting his wife - not sure how long it was suspended for.

He'll keep doing it - big ego, short temper and violence as an instant answer to any perceived slight.

He doesn't need psychological help. You're giving him an excuse. He's just a c*nt.

It’s one thing to get violent with the red mist coming down (not saying that makes it right) but his social media stuff shows he can plan  hate campaign against someone.
    Nasty bit of stuff.
