I came across this brilliant story from Martin Tyler about the day Charlton had to wear Sheffield Wednesday’s kit against Sheffield United because of old TV advertising rules!

Never knew this happened before. Thought fans here might enjoy it. Martin was the commentator on the day and shares his memories of it! some great footage from the day in there too

    Not as bad as when we had to wear a palace kit when we played them at Selhurst in the early 80’s

    I was there so remember it well.

    I was there and recall that the coach on the way up kept stopping at services to see if the game was on (no mobiles in them days). The pitch was awful but many were at the time.

    I'm sure our away kit was yellow at the time. Seeing the goals on the TV at the time , it looked like our usual away kit.
