Feels a bit like we'll take points off Middlesbrough just because it helps Millwall overtake them doesn't it?
    Typical
On the other hand, it gives Boro more incentive to muller them when they play each other, as they need the points.
Surely promotion is the big incentive and we’re both chasing that.

Results below us matter less when we drag another team below us
Its why I've refused to stop looking above us, as well as behind... the pressure starts to come off us the more teams we put between us and 22nd as not everyone can win each week then.

An amazing midweek, where WBA can end up with a credible draw, but still slip down the table. 3 points between 19th and 23rd now.

Just read somewhere that if Boro drop points to you lot tonight then top 2 would be in our hands. Come on you addicks!
No chance mate. Not with the changes we have made. We have put up the white flag already.
    That aged like fine wine.
As someone said...  I should say things like this every week.

Lol people shitting the bed because of some half time scores

Portsmouth lost, Blackburn are losing, we're level on points with Norwich as it stands and currently drawing away from home to 2nd placed Middlesbrough

Maybe let's wait for the full time scores before we start trying to start up the panicwagons again?

Could you point me towards all those posts of people "shitting the bed" because of the half time scores?  Because unless they have all edited their posts I can't see them.

Wrexham and Ipswich loaned players to us in January,  who combined to create the goal that beat one of their promotion rivals...

I thought on Sat after beating Brum that 48 points would be enough.

Tonight, even though we won, with Leicester & Oxford winning  I'm back to thinking we'd need 50 points.....52 to be absolutely certain.

No reason for it seeing as we've done no worse than those 2 and better than Pompey, Blackburn & WBA. Just feels that a couple of teams could easily win 2 or 3 games (like Oxford have done) and suddenly they are on 47 or 48 points.

So, I looked at the last 6 matches played that's on the BBC Championship table. Oxford have got 10 points, Pompey & Blackburn 7, Leicester 6 and WBA 4. Take out the best & worst and the remaining 3 teams are averaging around a point a game. So with 9 games left I'm saying that they could get around 10 points....12 max.

So on that basis 48 might just not be enough. 50 should be, but 52 definitely will.

QPR looking over their shoulder big time now.
Good apart from (you know who) I've not encountered a bigger bunch of absolute twat fans all season as the game exited the valley.

As it stands we need five teams to pass us, for us to drop, I can’t see that happening. I think it’s teams from Pompey and below who are at risk.

Please for the love of Godden don't lose to Hollywood FC in the playoff final
    Are you mad?
Anyone who would want Millwall to beat Wrexham in a playoff final isn’t CAFC in my book
I didn't say that, read what I said.  I said beat them in the semi, then loose at Wembley.  My way neither of them are promoted  !

Very exciting battle at the bottom now.  Relieved to be almost out of reach (touch wood).

    Looking at the fixtures

Blackburn and WBA face each other, as do Pompey and Oxford, and Leicester play away at Pompey and Blackburn.  Some key games there.  I can’t call it.  On form Pompey have dipped off, but 9 games gives them plenty of time to go on a run.

If I had to choose, I’d say WBA and Pompey will go down

It'll be a decent total to ensure safety this season.  Wednesday are awful, so that's more points for everyone,  but also the top teams aren't that good. Last season the top 2 got 100, this year 2nd place will be way off that.

Indeed for the likes of Coventry and sadly Millwall,  it's a great chance of promotion,  as the parachute teams have been way weaker than usual.

I agree WBA and Blackburn, West brom play 4 out of the top 6 and Black have 3 in the top 5. Just need us to get over 50 points and we can enjoy the chaos...doesn't happen often but we deserve some giggles.

Our season between (and including) the Wrexham games:

    Won 4 Drawn 6 Lost 11 / 0.86 PPG

Our season before and after the Wrexham games:

    Won 8 Drawn 5 Lost 3 / 1.81 PPG

Does this mean anything? Nah. Is it interesting anyway that they were the start (and possibly the end) of our bad form? I thought so, enough to share.

Very difficult to call both the two joining Wednesday in relegation, but do think West Brom will be one of them. They are on a dreadful run, which is hard to turn around at this stage. The other teams are at least picking up the occasional win.

Will be a big relegation for West Brom if they do drop. First time in third division since 92/93 season!

Agree on West Brom, letting in that last minute equaliser on Wednesday must have destroyed whatever remaining confidence they have.

As for the other spot, tough call but I’ll go for Blackburn.

  • Looking ahead to book advance train tickets for the remaining fixtures to save a few bob, but tried to research if Sky has moved any of the remaining fixtures. Does anyone know if the remaining fixtures are now fixed or does Sky still have some remaining fixtures that they can move?
  • Blackburn have a tough run in with Millwall, Middlesbrough, Birmingham, Coventry, Southampton and Sheffield United in their final 9 games.
As we showed Weds, anything can happen in the Championship but I can't realistically see them picking up many points from that.
1 point above the bottom 3. I would be very worried if I was a fan of theirs.

They move them on a weekly basis now, about 4 weeks ahead of the game

Do we know if the last day of the season in the Championship already has the date/time confirmed?

The last game won't be changed as it's already 12.30 KO for TV.

Watching the EFL midweek highlights, my impression was that West Brom played well and were unlucky not to win. There are definitely signs of improvement over Ramsey, but the damage is done.

The margins are so tight though, that a couple of wins can transform your season, especially over relegation rivals. Leicester vs QPR tomorrow is a great opportunity for Leicester to get 2 wins on the spin, and add to the pressure at QPR.

Stoke's win over Oxford in February might just be enough to keep them safe, as they're in terrible form. If Oxford had drawn that game, Oxford would be 20th on 39 points, and Stoke 18th on 46 points and right in it.
  • Not only are we being treated to Wrexham (again) on Sky Sports Main Event tonight, but also we have Rob and Ryan on Sky Sports Football giving their two bobs worth.

Can Hollywood get any more ... er Wrexham?
