Well that was a real after the Lord Mayor show performance.
Hardly surprising to be fair - Wednesday must have taken a hell of a lot out of them and an early kick off today would not have helped.
All that said, we had miles more possession than Oxford but hardly ever looked dangerous. And with Campbell having an awful game we rarely looked like scoring.
Clarke and Doc our stand out players today. We really must try and sign Clarke.
Anyway, all that said a superb effort from all concerned to get 4 points from 2 hard away games.
Right off to see if Kayne has posted up his highlights from today's game yet!

We looked knackered and I'm sure NJ will reference the fixture schedule in his post match interview but we also lacked quality.
But as others have said it's points that matter at this stage and we've taken 7 out of 9 this week.
Doc was my MOTM, even got forward well.
I make that only three league pens all season and Kelman has scored the two that went in.
One more win or two draws should be enough to guarantee safety, we may even have enough points already but we shall see.6 -
Take the point, stay up, invest heavily in the summer.
So many players in that side are just not championship quality.

Poor performance but decent result. Perhaps not surprising after the effort we put in on Wednesday night, but credit to the team and NJ for getting something today. 2 more wins at most required to ensure safety.1

Good point and deserved. Not because played well, but because Oxford didn’t play well either.3

Obvious that NJ set up the team 'not to lose'.
NJ strategy that it was evidently more important to negate Oxford and maintain the status quo, than risk a gamble for the win.
Pity in a way, because during that 1st half we could have grabbed a dire Oxford by the throat and taken all 3 points.
But that vital point we won today keeps Oxford where we want them.0 -
After watching a frustrating game on TV, now we're watching some real grass roots (on 3g) football. Horsham Vs Tonbridge Angels Annoyingly we've ended up with my wife's mates kids and husband who doesn't like football.

At the match awful game. Neither team deserved to win. We were devoid of any football craft. But we didnt lose.2

Both teams created absolutely nothing. Play that game 100 times with a different ref and I reckon you get 0-0 in 60 or 70 of them. On balance of play, a point was a fair result.The only chances of note were the two penalties.
The only other time their bloke got through our defence was 30 seconds after we had changed formation because we had to chase a game we shouldn’t have been behind in in the first place.6 -
Now we are safe (maybe not mathematically but yes safe) I would love NJ to give a run of starts to Fullah Kelman and Costello to see if we can start to actually play football. Mission accomplished with the dogged stifle the opposition tactics let’s see what we need for next season.6

I'm just so glad to have that Oxford match done and off the slate now. We've been a bit questionable against our relegation rivals this side of Christmas and it was probably our best opportunity to get pulled back into it today. Since Christmas we've lost twice to Portsmouth, threw away the win against Blackburn, lost to Portsmouth again, drew with West Brom and mercifully beat Leicester, though going into that I don't think they felt they were a relegation threatened side. No six-pointers left for us now, no more must not lose games, just regular matches and then Sheff Weds. Two more points by the time we play them and we'll already be on 50 points so today has to be viewed as a total success. This is the calmest I've felt about it all since before the Southampton home game (though we're still not safe until were safe)5

I believe TC is just burned out, overplayed.
People accuse him of being 'lazy' but never take into account he's trained and played through the last 3 close seasons, playing almost every match for Charlton and Jamaica .....no time to recharge the batteries like most players.
It's bound to take it's toll, especially at the level of physical intensity that NJ demands.
Once NJ feels we're safe, TC needs a rest or restricted to cameo roles from the bench.
He's a human being, he's knackered.

I will start with some positives:
Mannion had a good hand to take the pace off the ball to stop the ball going straight in the net before Lloyd got back to kick clear from the line. He also gives me confidence in the last 3 matches.
Charlton in the First half had possession and passed well until they got to the box which stopped Oxford laying a finger on us for most of the 1st half.
Docherty put in a captain's performance and did some positive runs and I saw him trying to gee up the boys.
Chambers passed well all game and got forward and other than his pointless booking as he'd Bell to cover, he did well.
Leaburn showed some good skill on the deck with little support.
Clarke had a good 1st half.
Jones was his normal strong self.
1-1 was a point won and a clear pen as the defender was pulling Miles jersey and didn't let go.
Kelman was on the pitch to take the pen.
Negatives:
The 2nd half was dire with mainly only Leaburn and Docherty showing any footwork or ability on the ball other than our defenders.
Carey was erratic today with a couple of cracking forward passes but too many poor passes.
TC: I'm not Ronnie Moore but Campbell just can't seem to pass the ball at the moment and his head drops.
We have so little threat around the box that we can negate the opposition but we struggle to create in and around the area.
I will leave others to point out our obvious limitations but 7 points from 3 games in 8 days is a good return.

He did look absolutely exhausted as the game went on. He tried to play a pass, it didn't come off and you could see him trying to drag his body across to win it back. He got like this a bit at the end of last season, we ran him into the ground from game one and you could see his batteries running out. The Highlight of the game was the guy watching from the tree in the car park. Docherty and Clarke played well and that’s the final straw with Campbell as far as I’m concerned. Saw him in the warm up not even bother to stretch whilst the others done there’s, he looks totally uninterested every game recently.6
