Beat Oxford and we're up to 13th place (due to the early kick off) and 50 points. Lose and we look over our shoulders a little while longer.
Next 4 after Oxford are against midtable fodder - Norwich, Bristol, Watford, Preston. 3 of those at home.
Follow those with Sheff Wed away.
An ideal run of fixtures.10 -
Funny you mention Norwich. I agree they'll be safe... but only a point above us - albeit a game in hand.Er_Be_Ab_Pl_Wo_Wo_Ch said:Beat Oxford and we're up to 13th place (due to the early kick off) and 50 points. Lose and we look over our shoulders a little while longer.

Norwich have won 8 of their last 10 league games. They might have had a terrible start but they’re not just drifting, they’re the team in the best form in the leagueEr_Be_Ab_Pl_Wo_Wo_Ch said:Beat Oxford and we're up to 13th place (due to the early kick off) and 50 points. Norwich will be the hardest of those matches. I reckon we'll get something from the gamss against Watford & Preston. Said on the other thread we'll be safe by the time we play Sheff Wed.3

There's the Thierry Small factor in the Preston game thoughgolfaddick said:Norwich will be the hardest of those matches. I reckon we'll get something from the gamss against Watford & Preston. Said on the other thread we'll be safe by the time we play Sheff Wed.2 -
Preston are now bottom of the form table, Bristol City, forth from bottom. Oxford are 3rd from top, Norwich 5th. The form league is upside down compared to earlier in the season. Not quite a walkover, especially Saturday, but enough poor teams to see us safe.Er_Be_Ab_Pl_Wo_Wo_Ch said:Beat Oxford and we're up to 13th place (due to the early kick off) and 50 points. Bit negative assuming we won't win 10-0 and go 12th.Er_Be_Ab_Pl_Wo_Wo_Ch said:Beat Oxford and we're up to 13th place (due to the early kick off)9 -
Ah yeah, we owe him for scoring the opener against us at their place…🤔aliwibble said:

If we win this weekend I think we’re practically safe.1

Agree with Golfie that we’ll be safe by the time we play Sheffield Wednesday. I have a feeling we’ll see a few more of Jones setting us up to first and foremost not lose rather than go for it. I reckon our survival train will be a slow one.2

I'm no longer worried after Wednesday, we ain't going down3

Agree. A win at the weekend seals it, especially with the fixtures Blackburn and West Brom haveElthamaddick said:I'm no longer worried after Wednesday, we ain't going down1 -
yeah, especially with Barnsley away to promotion chasing Brentford last game of season, we should stay up no matter our result against Leedsfenaddick said:

Preston are seriously terrible now. Bristol City not much better. Norwich are flying but we know we can get results against expansive teams. Don't think there is anything to fear with our fixtures.
I think the focus will stay on pragmatic points gathering to record as solid a finish as possible, but would love to see the reins loosened a bit for the run in with an eye on next season. Let's give JRC and Kelman a proper run in the team, try to play it about a bit more and see what happens - particularly against poorer opponents0 -

I really think if we beat Oxford we will go on a decent run till the end of the season. Most of the teams we have to play have nothing to play for. Can see us finishing like we did in 12/13 where we ended up being only a few points off the play off places.2

said basically this on another thread - expect us to finish the season strongly nowNicholas said:I really think if we beat Oxford we will go on a decent run till the end of the season. So. At this point we need 55 points to guarantee safety.1
