Thought the ref gave more free kicks today for the types of pushes and nudges which usually go unpunished...... don't know if that's the way he is or if there's a directive to throttle back on it a bit......?
I missed their penalty so can't comment but for ours I was dead level and their bloke got hold of Lloydys' shirt collar and pulled him backwards........ we were all chuffed of course but what a stupid thing for a defender to do and at that stage of the game!
I have to give an 'attaboy to Doc, thought he had a good, real captains game.
And thought their centre forward gave Lloydy plenty to think about ...... a good battle to watch.4 -

Great shot from Kyle Andrews of the foul on Jones for the penalty

Tedious, frustrating, insipid, bovine lumbering ineptitude.
Would have been a scandal if we hadn't got at least a point mind.
Rankin Costello should have come on sooner, we desperately needed somebody with a more advanced football brain than a farm animal.
I hate Oxford. I have never seen us win there. Kassam or Manor Ground.
I enjoyed watching the Red Kites gliding majestically around the surrounding skies and a really good meal in Giggling Squid.6 -
In fairness, Doc really put in a shift and we dominated the first half.
But we so lack ideas, personality, killer instinct and belief in the final third8 -
With us virtually safe I'd be playing Fullah in TC's position. No point playing Fevrier as he'll be going back in the summer.peterreeves said:There's no doubt that this season TC has served up more negative/positive comments from lifers than any other player.
I personally think that he's simply not up to the standard we need to be but.... even if Nathan did the unthinkable and dropped him who would take his place? Is it Fev or Fullah cos that's all we have with Apter gone.
Love to hear others views as even me and my daughter can't agree over him!
This would be the ideal time to blood in a couple of youngsters to see if they have got what it takes.

I want to see more Fullah too but playing him out of position doesn't seem the right way to blood him ingolfaddick said:

What's his position then, because TC had been playing as a makeshift striker for the past 2 seasons & that's not his natural position either.fenaddick said:

Fullah is a 10. TC bedded into the first team playing on the wing and was then converted. Let Fullah play as a 10. NJ clearly wants to play Carey deeper, if we're safe from relegation it's worth trying those two together with Coady/Coventrygolfaddick said:

The Sky highlights could not stretch to 2 minutes long.
How the hell are the EFL highlights going to get the 10 minutes worth they usually show?1 -

No, they put out a ten minute highlight package online.jimmymelrose said:EFL highlights on terrestrial TV show 10 minutes of Charlton highlights?

Watched us dominate the majority of Wrexham game and lose. Take 7 points from Birmingham Boro and Oxford. Am I happy with that at the business end of season… All day long4

Can’t beat a last minute goal that means everything in the context of our survival.
It was so hot there today, I had seen a feels like 8 temperature and had a thermal and thick coat on and fucking melted .
little shits first championship away game , so he’s pleased with the point .
There can be no duller football team on this earth but survival is all that matters.
We will survive and you can quote me and unlike some of the worried pussios on here I loved that Blackburn result .100% Safe20 -
I thought we started well, dominated the ball and seemed determined to take the game to oxford but the problem wasnt fatigue from the m'boro game but that we didnt seem to have any tactics in the last third. We seem reluctant to cross the ball or shoot and there never seems to be anyone in space to pass to. Strikers work in isolation so we dont win 2nd balls, and although they all work hard their chances to goal ratio isnt good enough. Most games we get at least 2/3 clear cut chances but they dont get put away. We also give far too many silly fouls away that put the defence under pressure and result in yellow cards that stop players fully committing when we're under pressure. Our strength as we saw midweek is our defence but next season if we're going to have a chance to stay in this division (and we will!) we need better recruitment and NJ to work his magic with the team at the other end of the pitch.5

I am sure I am not the first to say it, but f***ing, b****d, s***bags Millwall. You bunch of unhung c**ts.
Lost at home to Portsmouth and Blackburn.
Hope they lose the PO semi to a dodgy last minute pen at home.
W*****s.

8 minutes of the bloke up a tree16 -
1st placed Coventry lost at home
2nd placed Middlesbrough could only draw at home after losing at home to Charlton midweek
3rd placed at the start of the day Millwall lost at home to relegation threatened Blackburn
Playoff placed Hull lost away to West Brom who are basically in free fall
those 4 teams are at the top of the table and tells you all there is to know about how tough this league is and how much tougher it is at this business end of the season.
It was a crap game to watch yesterday but another point chalked up on the board in spite of it looks pretty good to me.
if you can’t win, draw no matter how you achieve that aim, that’s all that counts.

Reading some of their knuckle dragging comments on line. The premier league don’t want them so the ref sent off their player 😂wolfgang said:Millwall have no sense of honour. We did them a big favour at Middlesborough, then they stab us in the back today.
nothing to do with them being all noise and nothing else3 -
Deep down, that was one of those performances tgst left me yelling at the TV. Two poor sides slugging it out at the tail end of the season. Thankfully we grabbed a late equaliser and I'll put our overall sluggish display down to a tough week in which we grabbed seven valuable points.
But there are concerns there. I'm very tired of us winning the ball outside the opposition box and sending it back in, only to have a couple of Charlton players who can't chase the ball as they were so slow coming back they were offside when the ball was played. Some of our passing is so poor, and after we went behind, playing out from the back was rough as all the players ahead of the ball were stationary.
Still, safety is nearly ours which was the aim back in August. Just hope we can add a bit of panache next weekend.2 -

How is our penalty soft as stated by some posters when the Oxford player wants to exchange shirts with Lloyd before the final whistle ?

Mathematics.
Not safe yet, counting chickens should remain the domain of a 1990’s rock band.0 -
Just watched the highlights and seen the Oxford penalty......... thought Kayne did block him and stop his run towards the flight of the ball........ no different to what we see every game where defenders deliberately block attackers from running to chase balls down though.......
Saw the EFL TV highlight for WBA v Hull........ a Hull defender tugged the attackers shorts as he ran past him and of course the attacker went down like a sack of spuds..... outside the penalty area on the right hand side........ ref sent the defender off I guess for being the last man.... seemed like such a nothing tug though?
Also, I don't understand how so much of the pushing and holding in the box when there are corners etc. don't attract more fouls......?
I get some of it has been to deliberately allow more license and try to put a lid on players going down too easily but for my blood there needs to be a bit of a re-interpretation. I get it's a tough ask to be consistent across so many games and inside and outside the box in a game but I'd like to see them do better and it'd be great to somehow cut down on how often corners etc. are delayed while the ref talks to the players.....3 -
I thought most were saying our penalty was soft as in the one we gave away. I can see how that reads differently though. I think most thought the one Oxford conceded was a definite penalty, and it was.soapboxsam said:aliwibble said:Great shot from Kyle Andrews of the foul on Jones for the penalty

There was one attack late on. TC played a woeful pass 10ft to an Oxford defender. Instead of advancing to win it back he literally just stood still and watched them play it forward into our half. Shocking.ateamofcorygibbs said:
Just that he gets ridiculous abuse throughout the game, even when he’s very clearly not at fault. There was one instance where Chambers hit a really poor pass to him that gave TC no chance, but it didn’t stop people around me screaming at him. The constant refrain of ‘lazy’ when his issue has always been one of quality/confidence rather than effort. Not saying he had a great game (no one did) but the scapegoating is unreal.Sword65pf said:

I hear people state their penalty was given for an alleged push on the striker but Ramsay (not Ramsey peeps) hurt his leg so a tangle of legs occurred and with the striker being goal side...
I didn't feel that Will Mannion would concede( other than a pen) and it was only because of the pen and being 1-0 down that Jones was so far forward to be fouled.
It was a 0-0 match which turned into a 1-1.
We move on to Norwich who have taken 24 points from 10 matches in an amazing 23rd to 12th position.
The Canaries will be colourful and chirpy.

At first sight I didn't see the shirt pull just the resulting collision between Jones and the keeper, it was only on the replay that it was a bit more obvious (but still not as obvious as that picture), so that may have been why people were saying it was soft.LargeAddick said:

People around me were saying the lino gave the penalty and advised the ref. Can't confirm just glad he gave it.aliwibble said:

Of course the Oxford fans were saying on the bus back to the city that theirs was blatant and ours a dive.....mmm dive backwards.2
