Yeah I thought ours was soft at the time, but seeing the replays it was a lot clearer than at the game. I thought it was the goalie who'd knocked Jones over, not the defender who'd pulled him down.

Shirt pulling goes on far too much now, and especially at corners, and needs stamping out, maybe more refs should show some guts now and then and give penalties as this ref did, it def denied Jones a goal scoring header chance, and in no way was a soft penalty...

I thought ours was a clear, nailed on penalty offence when I saw it live on tv. I still can’t say the same about the Ramsay ‘bump’ being a penalty offence even after seeing it replayed multiple times. To me it just looks like he got played by a player who had missed his chance of getting anywhere near the ball

I am sure I am not the first to say it, but f***ing, b****d, s***bags Millwall. You bunch of unhung c**ts.

Lost at home to Portsmouth and Blackburn.

Hope they lose the PO semi to a dodgy last minute pen at home.

    W*****s.

I loved that result was jumping up in joy in the Oxford pub when that turnaround came about!
Agreed, well done blackburn and in particular, jorgenson and the ref.  Looks like their next couple of games are away to middlesbrough and ipswich, then norwich - 3 very tough games  - could be looking at clinging on to a play off place rather than automatics - fingers crossed.

I immediately thought that the ref was trying to even it up when he gave our penalty but I was focusing on their keeper. The replay showed it was a penalty but Oxford fans will probaby be frustrated that their player made that foul. It was stupid. Having said that, their penalty was a ridiculous decision. I suppose it shouldn't be too much of a surprise that the game needed penalties to produce any goals.

I have no relegation fears. We may already have enough points but even if we don't we won't need too many more and our run in looks fine for that. Not getting beat yesterday was the key to that. I reckon 60 points minimum from here which will take us close to mid table.

I think Lloyd Jones made it quite clear that Ramsay was being an idiot yet again - shades of the Millwall game.

I know TC was far from his best yesterday, but we do need to take more advantage of his being double/triple marked most of the time.

I thought we started well, dominated the ball and seemed determined to take the game to oxford but the problem wasnt fatigue from the m'boro game but that we didnt seem to have any tactics in the last third. We seem reluctant to cross the ball or shoot and there never seems to be anyone in space to pass to. Strikers work in isolation so we dont win 2nd balls, and although they all work hard their chances to goal ratio isnt good enough. Most games we get at least 2/3 clear cut chances but they dont get put away. We also give far too many silly fouls away that put the defence under pressure and result in yellow cards that stop players fully committing when we're under pressure. Our strength as we saw midweek is our defence but next season if we're going to have a chance to stay in this division (and we will!) we need better recruitment and NJ to work his magic with the team at the other end of the pitch.

Definitely some problem in the final third, and not just its link to midfield. One of the possible issues i have noticed yesterday and at Boro to an extent was the reluctance to move, and a flat footedness. Unsurprising really that it seems players know the ball isn't going to stick up front so their natural stance is back rather than forward in just about every circumstance. We may be moving forward with one player or another but the others are instinctively set to go back. It's infuriating. I think the obvious answer will be more quality in a couple of positions but the mental reflex may take longer to overcome with others.

Great shot from Kyle Andrews of the foul on Jones for the penalty

A great photo that. Also a bit of a colour clash between the black undershirt of the defender, and the keeper's black kit.

Wouldn't want Ramsay any other way, he's saved us points on endless occasions this season with those sort of last ditch challenges, wasn't his fault the ref was a W⚓

With 5 remaining home games and 3 away (one of which is at Wednesday), I would hope as a minimum we can to 53-55 points.

It feels like Campbell needs a few games starting on the bench. He looks increasingly ineffective and more likely to impact games coming on for 20-30 minutes as defences tire. I’d rather see Kelman given the opportunity of additional minutes to give him more experience playing against championship defences. Improving the midfield and upfront are going to need attention in the summer and I’m not sure yet if there is more to come from him.

I wonder how that Millwall fan who slagged us off after the 'boro game feels, after his team's abject capitulation today?

    It's probably still our fault...
We should have injured more Blackburn players the last time we played them.

IMO, TC’s best game this season was coming off the bench against Ipswich away. Whether with Dykes or Leaburn, Kelman (& ideally Godden in rotation) should be playing the foil role up front with them, though with only Kelman available atm we have to give him time to restore energy levels when we play midweek as well. TC isn’t really mobile enough to substitute for either and be as effective a disruptive pain in the arse to opposition defences as those two are. Jones's seemingly preference for hanging on to 60 minutes before making changes, if not forced otherwise, does seem to mean Kelman tends to come on later than he should though - somebody correct me if that’s totally wrong about the timing of tactical substitutions

but id like us to have more ambition in the winnable games. Should have started with a more attacking lineup.

Hopefully we will be more attacking next season
    we would have lost then.

We looked better when we went more attacking.
    They were worse than us.
How do you know we would have lost?

My main takeaway from the away end today is some of our fans are very weird about Tyreece Campbell
Care to explain? I’m a bit dopey and that’s gone over my head.
Just that he gets ridiculous abuse throughout the game, even when he’s very clearly not at fault. There was one instance where Chambers hit a really poor pass to him that gave TC no chance, but it didn’t stop people around me screaming at him. The constant refrain of ‘lazy’ when his issue has always been one of quality/confidence rather than effort. Not saying he had a great game (no one did) but the scapegoating is unreal.
    Ok thanks, fair enough.👍

Also that he is also the player who gets the most sung by! To add to the weirdness!

personally i think he is fantastic, sometimes a bit lazy, but always played out of position. Stick him into millwalls first 11 on the wing and he would be great.

Not to turn the thread into a discussion about TC, but he’s the sort of player we need to be improving on in the summer.  He’s got some ability, but at this level, you can see it’s been a big step up.  He may well be better with better players around him, our midfield three haven’t been the most dynamic this season, but there’s a difference in terms of players that we can survive with, versus players we can push on with.  I think he’s perfectly capable of operating as an impact player coming off the bench and staring the odd game, but if he’s a regular starter next season, it’s going to be a similar return.

I’m not being overly dismissive of his talents, he’s been great for us and has delivered, it just seems he will only get us so far at this level if he’s a regular.  There will be some debate about him over the coming months, but for me, he’s not a starter next year if we want to get up the table

Don't know - i certainly don't go searching him out - any rival club fan on another club's forum / message board is on a wind up and deserves everything he gets - there's a poster of the same name now on ittv and they're now turning on him coz the mask has slipped there as well now. It shouldn't be allowed on any club's forum. AFKA and  the gang here get a lot right but are wrong on this one.

How is our penalty soft as stated by some posters when the Oxford player wants to exchange shirts with Lloyd before the final whistle ?
I thought most were saying our penalty was soft as in the one we gave away. I can see how that reads differently though. I think most thought the one Oxford conceded was a definite penalty, and it was.
At first sight I didn't see the shirt pull just the resulting collision between Jones and the keeper, it was only on the replay that it was a bit more obvious (but still not as obvious as that picture), so that may have been why people were saying it was soft.
People around me were saying the lino gave the penalty and advised the ref. Can't confirm just glad he gave it.

Of course the Oxford fans were saying on the bus back to the city that theirs was blatant and ours a dive.....mmm dive backwards.
Watching it on the stream it was so obvious, Jones changed direction in mid air as the defender grabbed him. I wonder if the lino did call it, as it felt like there was a bit of a delay from the ref. Lucky Jones didn’t injure his arm or shoulder, as the pull got him falling the wrong way.

We are a far better side when TC is in it - we go complete route 1 when he isn't coz there is no other outlet. We compounded our problems in november / december by moving him to wing back. He isn't perfect, far from it and frustrates me as well but, we need to add a couple of similar type players in the summer as we are too reliant on him and he needs a break every now and then which we can't afford to give him.

We were square on (same view as that pic) and the female Lino did not give the penalty, which I couldn’t believe , she had the same view as us and it was the most obvious penalty ever .
She also like most Lino’s I’ve seen this season would wait for the ref to point in a direction for a throw and just stick the flag up in that direction , no fucker wants to make a decision .

Minimum of a point was required so all in all a good day. 7 points from the last 3 games is a fantastic achievement. The negative is that we don’t really look like creating chances a massive summer is required to bring some creativity into the squad but I’m sure NJ knows that and I’m also sure that a few that leave to make room will divide opinion on here lol I look forward to a summer or bickering on CL

Agreed re the decision making. There was also 2 blatant corners she didn't give 1 for each team, that was clearly a yard over the line.
