    Don't the'wall hate Linnington  ?

And wasn't Doughty one of the worse ones we've had this season ? I know he's only the 4th official but they get more involved than the lino's......and could take over if the ref has to be replaced.

Yes. 100% Doughty was that ref and books at least 7 players per game. I have no doubt, Jones manager will be booked Saturday.

Quite possibly the worst referee that I've ever seen and there's a lot of competition for that accolade.
We need to pray that the ref doesn't get injured.

Matthew Donohue was the referee who called off the Pompey match when Norm died.

    Hmm.

It looks like one of the card-happy whistle-blowers of no fixed abode: 22 matches this season across 6 competitions (Champ, Div Three, Div Four, Conference, FA Cup, FL Trophy) and a total of 83 yellows dished out at an average of 3.8 per game.

    Last few weeks:

    League One 07 Feb 2026 Port Vale 2 - 2 Burton 5 yellow cards
    League One 14 Feb 2026 Lincoln 1 - 1 Bolton 7 yellow cards
    League Two 17 Feb 2026 Chesterfield 1 - 0 Gillingham 3 yellow
    Championship 21 Feb 2026 Swansea 1 - 0 Bristol C 6 yellow cards
    FL Trophy 03 Mar 2026 Doncaster 0 - 1 Stockport 3 yellow cards
    League One 10 Mar 2026 Barnsley 1 - 1 Cardiff 1 yellow card
    League Two 13 Mar 2026 Colchester 0 - 0 Crawley 6 yellow cards

    Can't wait for Saturday ...
  • There are yellow cards and there are yellow cards. Those given for cynical, reckless, take one for the team or time wasting are OK with me and everyone on the pitch can get carded for all I care because those are bang out of order. Those yellow cards given because a tackled player is rolling around on the ground after someone has brushed past them are definitely not OK and in the absence of VAR should never be given if no officially saw contact dangerous enough to warrant rolling about.

  • I just wish some of them would realise that not every foul is a yellow card.
    Drives me up the wall.

That's a bit too much dissent.
