Quite apart from survival, finishing strongly will be a bit part of determining how next season could look. If we are looking at getting a better calibre of player, we need to at the very least look like a club/team that survive rather comfortably rather than one that survives by narrow margins. It will also help NJ's standing when dealing with the owners - pushing on will be a more realistic prospect the better we end the season.
Exactly like the end of the NJ half season at the start, I'm sure that convinced players like Doc and Edwards that it was a worthwhile move

Pompey fans calling this a must-win game. Anyone want to correct them on the usage.

I think it might be relevant in their case...

Great couple of minutes of attacking Football, both Derby and Portsmouth should have scored

Brewster really wimped out of that rebound.

The truth is that Charlton just wouldn't give a player that much space in the box

Regardless of the score tonight I do think Pompey have enough about them to get out of this.

Funny because I was thinking how I can’t believe that we fucked up and got doubled by them, I think they are poor. We made them look great at the valley.

    That'll do nicely.
Should have been far more comfortable.
What a donkey Carlton Morris looked when he came on.

Pompey bang in trouble now, which is a massive shock after they won 3-1 at The Valley, then 3-1 at The Den 4 days later.

And I think their game in hand is Ipswich at home - so unlikely to be much for them there

He’s done really well this season but is only just back from a bad injury. He’s a valuable asset in this league when he is fully fit.

If Pompy go down and we stay up, I’d definitely be looking at a couple of their players.
  • 1 point from the last 15 for Portsmouth. I much prefer our run-in to theirs, I don't see them finishing above us.

I really like Alli…on loan from Luton for Pompey

And take a peek at their run in.

Apart from Oxford at home, that's a hard set of fixtures.

Pompey’s run in looks horrible. 5 away and 4 at home.

Have both Middlesborough and Coventry away still to play.

Oxford at home on Easter Monday for them really is a must win…

Wasn't at his best tonight, other than one shot that was well saved by the keeper.

They do have some tough fixtures.

Their saving grace may be their two 6-pointers, both at home (Oxford, Leicester) .....providing they win them, of course :)
