    That'll do nicely.
Should have been far more comfortable.
What a donkey Carlton Morris looked when he came on.
He’s done really well this season but is only just back from a bad injury. He’s a valuable asset in this league when he is fully fit.

If Pompy go down and we stay up, I’d definitely be looking at a couple of their players.
I really like Alli…on loan from Luton for Pompey

Pompey bang in trouble now, which is a massive shock after they won 3-1 at The Valley, then 3-1 at The Den 4 days later.
And take a peek at their run in.

Apart from Oxford at home, that's a hard set of fixtures.

They do have some tough fixtures.

Their saving grace may be their two 6-pointers, both at home (Oxford, Leicester) .....providing they win them, of course :)

More and more looking like two of these three to go down.

Pompey's home form has deserted them, 4 consecutive defeats and only 1 goal scored. Oxford will definitely fancy their chances at Fratton - park the bus, keep things tight, let the tension and frustration in the stands get to the home team...

I'm bored at work so made up a table of remaining games for teams around us, number of points and league table position of the opponents they are playing.

Maybe .....but I believe bar Sheff Weds, none of the relegation pack are dead yet.

Plus they've each got two 6-pointers to play - and they all play Sheff Weds.

Watch out for the surprise results, (like Blackburn at Millwall, last weekend).

And of course, picking up points against mid-table teams already on the beach 🏖️

But especially when they play each other - they can't both win. Or lose  :)

These 6-pointer games will be key.
And there's quite a few of them.

Top of Portsmouth's summer shopping list has to be a striker.

In 3 of their recent home games, Sheff Utd, Hull and Derby, they had 72 shots, 22 on target, plus 33 corners, and didn't score a goal. Lost all 3 games 1-0.

Just shows Shef Weds are not the bye some were making it out to be
They’ve lost 28 of their 38 games this season, only winning 1 of them. They are as close to a guaranteed 3 points as you could ever wish for

Yeah they've tried to rely on Bishop far too much , their other options bar Brown are a couple of players they signed from Australia in Segecic and Waddingham and Mackenzie Kirk they signed from St Mirren. Need their owners to actually get the chequebook out and stop trying to do it all on the cheap.

They're a strange team though. Obviously they are terrible but for their points total it's not like they get battered 4-0 every week. 20 of their 28 defeats have been by 1 or 2 goals, and they've managed draws at home to QPR, Norwich, Hull, Blackburn, Watford. In recent home games they led v Millwall, were a minute away from beating Watford and held Ipswich for 78 minutes last weekend.

It would be absolutely typical Charlton if we went there and handed them their only home win of the season. It's also a game in which we're likely to have most of the possession and typically that is when we tend to struggle.

Be interesting to see our stats as a comparison as we arguably need a couple of strikers too!

Millwall wasn’t a surprise. Too many people there had already thought they were in the PL.

Nothing can be taken for granted in this division and taking your eye off the ball just invites failure.

They have been competitive in just about every game, but seem to crack right at the end of games, due to the small squad and tiredness you imagine.

I can see our game there being very tense, but a good game for late subs to come on and make a difference.

Helps frame the challenge they each have well.

    I reckon

Blackburn get 9 more points and finish on 51
Pompey get 10 more and finish on 50
WBA get 8 more and finish on 48
Oxford get 8 more and finish on 47
Leicester get 7 more and finish on 45

Massive guess work on my part looking at the fixtures and being very kind to Pompey given their form

Pompey have a horrendous run-in though. to get 10 points is a big ask.

Blimey, Oxford really have a tough run in.  Watching them Saturday I can't see how they get enough points from those team to get out of it personally.

Oxford and Leicester at home are the ones they'll obviously be targeting.

Their last two games are Stoke and Birmingham, neither side will have anything to play for.

I hope Pompey stay up - after watching them last night i think it’s a tough ask with their fixtures
IMO it’s between Pompey Oxford and Blackburn although I hope Leicester go down

Both true, which suggests to me it's going to come down to a few surprise results (like Portsmouth having their little peak against us/Milwall) and could well come down to the wire.
There is also the chance of Leicester losing more points (seems unlikely though) which would change the maths again.

Leicester are such a mess, that it's hard to predict what they'd be like next season if they stay up.

I'd expect Pompey,  Blackburn and WBA to be similar next season,  and Oxford to still be weak, as their financial priority has to be their new stadium.
