Watford [A] Tickets to go on restricted sale

The Millwall allocation is good for this league (when like this year they give both tiers). From memory we sold out when it got to season ticket holders who had no away games on their pointsSword65pf said:

It's very simple to build up points. Buy a season ticket, and the vast majority of away games get to general sale so that adds to the overall total.Sword65pf said:
The only thing I would say and happy to be corrected if I’m missing something, for people that want to start going away more regularly, how do they build up points if they are unable to get tickets to build those points up?as they don’t get to the general sale stage, seems a bit of a closed shop. This is a general question, not one of personnel experience.JohnnyH2 said:If the tickets have sold out (no reason to doubt that they have) this shows anyone with a season ticket and no away games from the last 2 years had a chance of getting a ticket.
That to me shows the box office staff get this right (and have done since the loyalty points were introduced). Anyone who is a season ticket holder and goes to some away games has the opportunity to get a ticket.
Cannot understand why anyone would object to that and hopefully something the club/people who talk about changing the current process.
The only games anyone going to a few away games and have a season ticket is local low allocation and in this division its really only QPR in that category1 -

If you buy a season ticket, then that’s 230 points straight away(or 460 in the second season), to add to that there are plenty of away games that don’t sell out / go to general sale. Just means you have to start going to a few of the Preston/Hull/Sheff Utd/Blackburn/Middlesbrough etc type games. These didn’t sell out, so plenty of opportunity to build points. Then those that do this get rewarded with the points for the more local games or those with lower allocations. Not a closed shop at all (unlike most prem clubs), just rewarding those that travel the most.Sword65pf said:

I agree with your general point, but here the entirety of VRS2 went on sale in phase 1. I imagine people would rather have been at the back in the middle of the stand than at the back to the side.AFKABartram said:It’s ridiculous, the last tickets released are arguably the most wanted ones.
the whole point of being able to select seats for away games was it brought in a degree of self policing and reduced issues that can sometimes emerge with the lottery of not knowing what you’ve got till their drop through your letterbox. Those that want to sit at the front can select that. the youngsters who want to stand and sing the most can swallow up the back row sections etc
now this farce of only offering the front 4 rows when it’s people’s windows to buy, or people thinking it’s sold out when they look only for another 500 to be put on sale a few hours later, it serves zero purpose and helps no one.
That makes this fixture one of the best for the order away tickets have been sold in this season. Most other games have seen the equivalent of VRS1 sold first, then VRS2 sold in stages.
At least here, those of us in phase 1 had the pick of the best seats from the start and didn't have to either wait or buy a ticket in a seat we didn't want only to change it later.
While a lot of work needs to be done, this is still comfortably better than the lottery we have had in previous seasons. I'm convinced that somebody in the ticket office has it in for me as I was never given an away ticket anywhere other than the front row by the corner flag, regardless of when I bought a ticket, under the old system. Naturally, I never sat in my allocated seat away when they did this.0 -
This phased ‘release’ of sections would only work with clear communication. Last night it appeared the away end was sold out (exept for some wheelchair spaces). Therefore why would you bother to go back on this morning ? If there was a simple message telling people that more were still to be released, then it would make the whole thing clearer and fairer.

Couldn’t agree more and I don’t even go away nowadays. Surely something the Fan Advocates should be taking up with the Club.AFKABartram said:It’s ridiculous, the last tickets released are arguably the most wanted ones.

It appears that there are about 40 tickets left with around 40 minutes to go before general sale starts. These are all in block VRS1 apart from two pairs of disability tickets in VRS2. These are decent standing tickets. Would be especially poor if extra tickets are added at general sale stage.

I assume they've done it in that way to make it easier to batch for postage. It is stupid though0
-

-

Thanks for keeping me optimistic, I got a couple at 4pm and they’re pretty good seats shockinglyUboat said:
I can’t help you, I’m afraid, but last time we were there it definitely went to general sale.danwhicks said:Hey, Watford based Addick here - don't suppose anyone is trusting / naive enough to get me a couple of tickets for this if I transfer money to them?I've not got to a game since Wembley and just checked and have a frankly useless 15 loyalty points0 -
I’m sure you’ll get tickets but if not, pretty much all of my close neighbours regularly go Watford games so I’m certain one of them can grab a couple tickets for me (assuming you won’t be a jerk if we score / concede)Reading Addick said:the trouble is that i have bought my tickets on here several times so my loyalty points are not moving up! Something that needs to be raised at the next Q&A with the club. With games where it's OBVIOUS that we will easily, and quickly sellout, it's making a mockery of the seat choosing process, which should really help people go the area they want, whether sitters at the front or standing with the lads at the back.superclive98 said:It's ridiculous how tickets have been released.
It's obvious that we are going to sell as many as they are willing to give us for a match on bank holiday Monday.
Just release all the tickets and let people choose where they want to sit/stand2 -
It is odd mate n wedneday i booked a ticket in Row W in section 2. It was the only one available yet as you say the first 4/5 rows were mostly available. It arrived today by post and the seat is correct.AFKABartram said:It’s ridiculous, the last tickets released are arguably the most wanted ones.

To those asking about building up points, also go to some of the unfancied cup game sin midweek like FGR and Crawley that also helps slightly.
The system will also have some gripes as i found out i couldnt get a ticket for the QPR away match earlier this season, as they were given 2 per person in a game where there were om 1700 tickets, despite going to Bristol (as it wasnt counted till later) and going to several aways the previous season.
Whats even more annoying is people having spares within days of buying them. But hey ho,0 -
My dad was going to buy my tickets for me and my lad as VG but I wanted to build my loyalty points so waited

I couldn’t go in the home end but thanks for the offer. I even had a lift sorted as was going with a Watford matedanwhicks said:

They haven’t turned up in the post yet as otherwise could have met today so will probably need to post them out

The away club will have a sequence in which they want tickets sold. I agree it’s ridiculous for games like Watford but they won’t care. What I don’t know is whether they release the seats or we do.0

I can confirm with 100% certainty that we release the seats. I have been at the ticket office before and have asked them to release more seats before, which they have then done at my request (under these circumstances, there were severely limited options for anybody buying seats together but plenty of singles).Airman Brown said:The away club will have a sequence in which they want tickets sold. This paragraph however, I cannot be 100% certain of. While the teams we are playing away do dictate the order in which tickets are sold, I am convinced that we are placing further restrictions such as releasing a few rows within the block at a time. This is because this is always done in a manner that makes absolutely no sense for the home team to ask for away tickets to be sold in.1 -
