Apparently good 4G or 5G gives it a run for it's money but could be a solution for rual applications. Anybody on here got any experience of it ?

    I have had it for 18 months now and it is fantastic. Although I do live in a very rural location, previously I had BT that they claimed was fibre but due to the distance from the exchange my average speed was about 5Mbs it was so bad I had no chance of watching Netflix or anything. For locations like mine Starlink is a godsend

    I pay £75.00 pm which is obviously more than BT but I can actually use it lol the speeds are mental

    Its great, we are very rural, best i every had with so called fibre was 13 mbs, rubbish for watching football, now we get in the hundreds and happy to pay £75.00 for it.

    I dont have it - and tend to baulk at the price, but everyone i know who has it say its brilliant.

    If you live truly in the sticks it is a viable solution. The more satellites Elon keeps firing into the atmosphere the better the constant coverage will be too. Price is toppy but when the alternative is partial fibre miles from a telephone exchange I know I'd pay it 

    If you don't live in the sticks, you shouldn't need it in this country

    I have Starlink, best £75 a month you can spend. I live in North Kent & the broadband supplied locally is absolutely appalling - we’ve tried Sky, BT & we’re getting 30/40 mbps, currently getting 102mbps right now on Starlink - have been hitting 250mbps most nights

    Thanks all. Will probably go for it as nothing to lose really. Would look to a more traditional fibre solution but not possible for our location without some major cable works.

    We live in deepest Essex on the Suffolk border and Starlink has been brilliant. Never goes down and usually between 150 and 200 Mbps.

    I was looking at satellite broadband a few years ago as our landline BT was delivering 2mps - not much more than dial up! But Cheshire East rural broadband initiative now delivers full fibre to premises from Airband at £56 pm and I get anything up to 700-800 mps now - very reliable as well. We are very rural!
    If that hadn't happened then I would almost certainly have gone for Starlink. Might be worth checking with your local authority what plans they might have to connect rural locations.
