    Goals from the 5-0 win.

Good to see more content, alongside the post match interviews with Chris Lock after some of the u21 games.
Their keeper was awful, shouldn't be getting beaten from those angles for the first two and then for the penalty he does the hard part in saving it, but gets up and for some reason turns his back to the play so is nowhere when we follow up to score the rebound.

Honestly looked like an outfield player in goal with how easily he got beaten for the first 2.

Looks like our u18s or u16s are out in Portugal.

U16s have three (presumably short) games in the Algarve Elite Cup today. They’re being streamed but you have to buy a pass.

    https://footballalgarve.com/streaming/

    Benfica 11:20am
    Sporting 2:50pm
    Vitesse 4pm

Looks like there’s knock out games in the next few days for the teams who go through.

Going on Instagram, our u16s lost in the semi final on penalties today after drawing 1-1 with Braga.

They beat Benfica 2-1, drew 0-0 with Sporting and beat Vitesse 1-0 in the first group stage on Friday.

They lost 2-0 to Porto and drew 1-1 with West Brom in the second group stage yesterday.

They also lost 2-0 to Brentford in an extra game today.

We were away to bottom of the league QPR today and won 2-1. They took the lead and we came from behind to win.

The first half we created more than they did, but we were too open at the back as our fullbacks were playing so far forward. At one point, our left back was our most advanced player, playing right in the middle ahead of our strikers.

It's a miracle QPR didn't take advantage of our lack of defence as they frequently had two or three players up against our two centre backs.

They eventually went 1-0 up after a long ball down our left flank (exploiting the fact that our left back was so advanced) resulted in a cross that was headed in.

We then equalised after our number 9 took the ball round their keeper and slotted it home.

Right at the death of the first half we were awarded a penalty, but their keeper saved it.

In the second half, we abandoned the tactic of pushing our fullbacks so far forward. However, not having so many players in the opposing half allowed QPR to create more chances than we did.

A late piece of individual effort from Raynon Richman gave us the win.

JP suggested at Bromley Addicks that a high number of the 2nd year scholars will be offered pro deals.

There are 13 in that group:
    • Jack Belton (midfielder)
    • Shia-Lee Burnham (forward)
    • Dionte Davis (defender)
    • Marley Dawkins (defender)
    • Tate Elliott (defender)
    • Ellis McMillan (midfielder)
    • Lanre Olatunji (defender)
    • Reuben Reid (forward)
    • Emmanuel Sol-Loza (forward)
    • Bradley Tagoe (forward)
    • Phoenix Valentine (defender)
    • Sam Washington-Amoah (midfielder)
    • Finley Woodham (goalkeeper)
Reid, Sol-Loza and Washington-Amoah already have pro deals.

Olatunji never seems to play, unsure why.

The rest have had plenty of game time at u18 level and featured for the u21s at some point this season, even if only in cameos, so could all potentially be offered a pro contract.

I guess lots of our U18s did last season but we lost a couple to other team if I recall correctly.

From what I have seen of this player he seems reliable and intelligent in his game, with a decent amount of skill on the ball, and relates well to his teammates during play.

I thought Dionte Davis on the other side looked more promising vs Spurs in the cup game last season, but I’ve been impressed by Valentine in recent u21 matches, and that’s despite playing on the left, his “wrong” side.

I agree with those points, he looks comfortable at u21 level, and also has decent pace and has been trusted to take set pieces at times.

Assuming he signs pro with us the challenge next season will be to keep progressing to the point he really stands out at that level. He’s only 18, so could still be developing physically.

    Excellent.

From the only league table I can find

    Charlton P23 GD 41 PTS 51
    Wigan P25 GD 16 PTS 49
    Spanners P23 GD 8  PTS 42

Don't think includes our win today, Not sure how many games are left.

The OS one recently updated, and our fixtures show we have 4 games left.

    Very impressive goal difference.

Took me a while to work out Cardiff have only played 22 games and therefore have 18 points to play for .
