Shocked at the thought Jones started tonight with an ankle injury. The guy is tough but at one point he nearly fainted - whether from pain or concussion, I don’t know. As usual he’d taken one or two bangs to the head. Don’t see any chance of him starting at Millwall.

We really have to hope that Lloyd Jones really isn’t out for a prolonged period, that really would be curtains for us if he were to be.

He rolled his ankle against SU, has been stiff for a few days, and we started him. He needed his ankle wrapped around 40 minutes in and could not last longer than halftime.

Ramsay played with a stiff calf in the Oxford game. He was injured and was out for a month..

Bell has been injured playing LWB due to the distances you need to cover (with his hammies), so we moved him to that position against Chelsea in a cup game.

I can't believe there is a thread related to Charlton injuries and it only has 63 comments 😳

63 injuries so far seems about right, we're only half way through the season!
  • The returns from injury mean we have 5 forwards for 2 positions.

Miles expected back for Portsmouth which I think means we’ll only have Knibbs and Edwards out, neither of which are muscle injures as well as Burke who is hopefully back soon but made of glass anyway.

I know we had our injury problems earlier kn the season but that is particularly impressive this time of year. Yesterday and next weeks opponents both have about 10 injuries.

    Will Abbott who?

Was this on Cawley's latest podcast?

Any mention of what Burke's injury actually is? I've only seen NJ said Burke had an injection.

Yeah it was. No mention of Burke beyond the injection comment from last week but I inferred from that that he won’t be long, if an injection is sorting you out the injury can’t be too serious

Yes, that’s a fair assessment overall.

Coventry is nursing an injury, mind (same source), as is Jones. I suspect Ramsey is too, I thought he looked a shadow of the player who started the season. Then again I suppose every team has similar stories. It would be great to get to, say, 45 points soon and then be able to rest  especially Jones and Bell a bit. We need both of them fit and ready to go next season.

I suspect a decent % of professional footballers are nursing something. In fact, you often hear ex pro’s say they were never 100% fit in their whole career. It’s all about managing those niggles and as you say, safety will help with that

In the latest Cawley article NJ is expecting Godden and Knibbs back after the next international break - so the start of April.

Sort of felt like we might not see Knibbs again this season so it's good that he's likely to be back for at least a bit

Charlton Athletic are pleased to announce a new partnership with MBST Health UK, formalising an ongoing collaboration focused on enhancing player recovery plans and advancing clinical research in elite sport.

MBST, a non-invasive medical technology using low-energy magnetic resonance, has been integrated into the club’s sports medicine programme since the 2024/25 season. Following a successful trial period, the partnership will now extend through the current campaign and into the 2026/27 campaign.
