Good to read people are also seemingly getting prompt appointments with their GP where needed / advisable.1

It's been that high before but I'm booked in for an MRI on Tuesday as part of my regular screening.Hope the MRI went OK @Henry Irving, when do you get the results?By the way, everyone, today is the last day of the fundraiser and we're still only 80% of the way to the target, so if anyone had meant to donate but hasn't got round to doing so, please do ASAP: https://www.goodhub.com/go/psa-testing-day0 -
I was in the red but got my GP result back a couple of days ago and the reading was well within the normal range, I'm happy to say.
Hope you others that got the same result as me are getting similar from your follow-ups.6 -
So, my PSA score was 20.99.
That meant a MRI last week.
Got the results today which was no sign of cancer so no biopsy (had two before and they are a pain in the perineum/balls).
That's the good news.
The bad news is that Tracey's fund raising page closed just under £1500 short.
So as I was in a good mood I made a donation here https://www.goodhub.com/go/offerings/barry-kilby-prostate-cancer-appeal-7796/donations/create
Can you do something similar?
It's a general donation page so do mention CAFC in your comments so the organisers link it to Tracey.11 -
If memory serves it was £15 to get the test. Why not charge a bit more, say £20, and actually cover the costs for the charity that did it?I’ll make a donation but I think that if you can afford football you can afford the cost of the test.
Unless my maths are wrong.1 -
Maybe that should be an option for next year, if it happens at all, but right now Tracey is down £1500 so any donations are welcome.iainment said:If memory serves it was £15 to get the test. Still blows my mind that the club don’t fund it, pennies to our owners4

Great news that you came back clear @Henry Irving and thanks for the prompt. I’ve added a small donation to the main BK page above. Had a meeting with my GP last Tuesday and a 2nd blood test on Friday. Waiting for those results, but hopefully all clear shortly 🤞🏻0

Good luck with that and thanks for the donation.TelMc32 said:Great news that you came back clear @Henry Irving and thanks for the prompt. I’ve added a small donation to the main BK page above. A personal donation from the owners would be lovely but for me Charlton has always been about fans getting things done themselves rather than waiting on others.fenaddick said:Still blows my mind that the club don’t fund it, pennies to our owners6 -
Agreed, not saying I expect them to cover it all and I know our fantastic community will always want to contribute. A nice top up/matched donations would be a great PR move for them thoughHenry Irving said:

Just to explain re the testing cost. It’s actually around £30 a person for each test.So originally Tracey had Barry Kilby help to fund half. Then after Covid they were struggling so she agreed to raise the money as she didn’t want to suddenly double the cost for fans.Out of the money it pays for the 12 phlebotomists, testing kits, sundries like gloves/tourniquets/ cotton wool/ etc and then blood courier to collect after, laboratory to test the bloods, BKPCA staff to attend the day, processing all results etc.5

My test thankfully came back green, good luck to everyone who is having further tests. I've added a donation too, hopefully the shortfall can be raised.3

Just made a donation and good luck to everyone who has been tested.1

I put a £20 note in the bucket when I registered on the day.
From previous test days I knew a top up was needed.
Better to keep it £15 for those who might struggle to pay more. If you can afford more pay it on the day.2 -
My re-test came back as 2.36 against the 3.22 on the day, so all good (amber on the BK chart and green on the NHS one) and down from the 2.76 score the year before.I’d initially mis-read the NHS app on the way to Swansea on Saturday and thought my re-test had come back as <0.6 which seemed a huge reduction, but it turns out that was the diabetes check and anything up to 30 is normal, so all good there too. The PSA test wasn’t loaded til later 🤷🏻♂️ I consider myself intelligent…but medically ignorant 🤦🏻♂️😉11
