David Attenborough - Happy 100th Birthday
Happy Birthday David, congratulations on reaching the age of 100.
David is a true national treasure, he has given so much to raise the importance of looking after the natural world. His wonderful nature programmes have given us a much greater understanding about life on Earth.
The Blue Planet series was an eye opener to the damage that humans are doing to our rivers, seas and oceans. He called for a reduction in the use of plastic that is so damaging to aquatic life and many rose to the challenge.
May you have many more years living on our planet.

Absolute legend. His work for creating wonderful TV documentaries of this diverse planet we reside on and for commissioning so many great shows as head of BBC 2.
Remember watching his life on earth documentary series I had on VHS as a young kid which soon became one of my most watched videos. It like for so many inspired me to really appreciate the magic of the natural world.

One of the best of the best.
Even this year I was entranced by Wild London.
The world is a bit of a better place because David Attenborough walks amongst us.11 -
Wonderful broadcaster and the originator of colour telly. His love of this planet and the wildlife in it, shines through in every broadcast. I regularly go birdwatching at Abberton Reservoir and there is a sign there commemorating the fact that he opened the reservoir expansion in 2015. It may sound silly but it always feels great to stand in the place where he stood.
If you haven't already done so, I can't recommend watching his Secret Garden series enough.

National treasure. Has done so much good for our planet. And what an incredible life he has lived, the change he has seen with his own eyes, the experiences he has had and places he has been.3

What an absolute legend this man has been and still is… a real "National Treasure", today he celebrates his "ton" of 100 years, born 8th May 1926. Beginning with Life on Earth in 1979, Attenborough set about creating a body of work which became a benchmark of quality in wildlife film-making and influenced a generation of documentary film-makers.
Tonight on BBC 1 at 8:30 we have "David Attenboroug'100 years on Planet Earth", a 90 minute special from The Albert Hall, celebrating his groundbreaking career, and worth a watch…

Watching the celebrations on the BBC now. Genuinely got a little emotional at the various outpourings of love towards him. A true legend. And such an inspiration. My love of nature, of travel, of wildlife, the ocean, of scuba diving, safari, rainforests and savanah, turtles and big cats all come from growing up watching his programs.
We should treasure him while we have him heed his words and by god work on developing eternal life for him!7 -
Has anyone else done more for nature and our planet? Genuinely anyone?7

A Grammar school boy from Leicestershire. What a shame we have destroyed the education system in this country. How many more men and women would we have produced of this calibre if we had left our at the time world class education system alone .0

Not just a national treasure. The main Czech TV news devoted a full 5 minute clip to him yesterday. They were also doing that to subtly make a point about the value of a public TV channel, which is currently under threat here, but it was heartfelt too. His series have been widely watched and his books grace every major bookstore.5
