I think it's kind of a reference to the 1990 Newcastle 'barcode' shirt, but not executed anywhere near as well.

Unlike me to be contrary, but I think the Newcastle kit is nice.

Hull is great as well - the Port Vale principle nicely executed.

hopefully our kit is an improvement on last years abomination.

    Yeah that’s an excellent video
I didn’t check who was winning or even if the position made sense, but I’m glad they got the chess board the right way round.

Then Jones could have more strikers in his pocket.

I never thought it would be possible to get "Black & White stripes" wrong... Its pretty bog standard
But somehow Newcastle have managed it, and look even more like a barcode
rTheOther14 - Newcastle reveal new home kit

And still they had fans queuing at their club shop from 4am yesterday morning to buy it.

    A proper Newcastle shirt.
Malcolm McDonald on the right, but is that Bob Moncur on the left?

Not a fan of Pompey's kit. Supposedly celebrating 100 years of the club but the only nod is the gold detailing

Generally speaking I think gold looks pretty naff on football kits.

Especially if you're likely to be in a relegation battle
