Might of already been done, but I'm guessing we have only spent about 2 mill on current players??

I would Guess that the following cost nothing Fee wise :-

Elliott, Randolph, Richardson, Dailly, Llera, Youga, Sodge, Solly, Basey, Sam, Shelvey, McKenzie, Mooney

The rest well I don't know some, but think you cannot be far out looking at £2M....
    Bailey (£750k), Mcleod (£1.1M) Racon (£?), Semedo (£?), Burton (£?), Spring (£?)

Semedo, Burton & Spring were all Freebies I think (obviously signing on fees and agency fees though). Racon I think was about £400K and thought Bailey was only £400K....also would have thought McLeod fee was upto £1.1M so likely a lot less
  • you have to add on signing on fees as these wont come to us because they just want to play football

What about wages? Surely they would be a part to a players expense?

Out of contract and free transfer players are signed with a signing on fee paid to the player, of course.

I wouldn't be surprised if they can, within reason, negotiate their own salary.

Sam Allardyce when at Bolton pioneered signing players available on a free, and the player signing expenses were paid out of the funds normally paid in transfer fees. Advantage to the player also that he could often negotiate a higher salary and signing on fee than otherwise the club's budget would allow if a transfer fee was paid.

As far as I'm aware, Parky hasn't paid a single transfer fee for a player on a permanent contract, so maybe this is Charlton's current policy - enabling the signing of a higher calibre of player, eg Dailly, Richardson, etc

Incoming loans come with a price too, don't forget. Part or all of a player's salary can be picked up by the club and/or a "loan transfer fee" negotiated and paid to the lending club.

I can't substantiate it, but I believe I heard Sinclair borrowed from Chelsea a couple of seasons ago, cost our club around £60,000 "loan transfer fee". It'll be interesting if somebody can shed more light on this (or refute it) .......?
