Cosy little pub. Well run and the beer is excellent. Good for a quiet evening when a chat is more important than music and eye candy.

It is an absolute GEM!!! If you actually are a pub man you'll love. FFS keep it quiet though!

Small cosy pub, like a country pub.No music, tv's etc.Does lovely food one of the best.Has a decent garden as well for when the weathers nice.
  • Is it a decent pub if you wanted to go for a quiet drink with the missus or is it a bit of an old mans pub

Good to see it's still got a good rep. In 85, I went to school with a guy whose older brother and mates used to frequent it and it was good then.

One of the best pubs I know for a quiet drink with the missus, that's how I would describe it.

Also good if you wanted a quiet drink with your mates to talk about footie.

Best thing is the food and drink is excellent and staff are really friendly.

It's both! It's not an old boozers pub full of drunk pikeys and Paddys. There are old men in there but couples too. It is just how a pub should be.
  • bit late on this but a fantastic little pub seems made for a few sunday evening relaxers the rev james is always nice in there

Isn't it in Lion Road, just down from what used to be the Standard?
