Alrite. I haven't taken a look at Charlton Life for a while (revising for exams), so sorry if this has already been posted but I had a good laugh at this and felt the need to share it.

Its been circulating on the web that a student put £4000 on Angola to beat Mali with Angola 4-0 and 13 minutes left. Apparently he thought that, with odds at 100-1, he was going to see a profit of £440 when actually the return would be £44. Surely there's no need to mention that Mali staged an amazing comeback to draw 4-4!

I had a good chuckle.

Jesus, shoot the poor lad down why don't you.
  • I think a Spurs fan did though do something similar a few years back - staking something like £35k at half time when they were beating Man U 3-0, only to lose the lot when the Mancs staged a second half-fight back.

I remember that. It was Man City and they'd had Barton sent off, but Jonathon Macken chose that moment to turn into Maradonna. It was very funny.

You do have the option to change it back on most websites. Some people work by decimal, some by fraction.

ill take that as a compliment, i guess :-)

i personally think easier as decimals but only as you dont have to work it out yourself, funny enough math's was my best subject at school! shame i always got kicked out and was a little s*** in the lessons otherwise would have been in top set according to the teacher lol
