Interview done by some students at Cambridge, quite alright actually. Probably the most interesting bit is towards the end. Thoughts?

Quite open for him, liked it.

    Lol:

    Worst player you signed?

AC: 'Dennis Rommedahl. He'd done well at PSV and internationally; we paid big money for him. We bought him for his attacking flair, but all he could do was defend'.

Interesting that Jensen, Fish and Costa were all heavy smokers. Think we have any in the current squad?

My dad once saw Jensen outside heathrow chain smoking ciggies and ended up talking to him briefly, only to get on the flight and be sitting next to each other was about a week after blackburn had thumped us 4-1 at ewood

I think I remember it on here someone saying they saw Luke Young having a few on a night out. It's not uncommon for players to do it, wasn't Zidane a heavy smoker? Didn't seem to harm his football

Good article - a few interesting and amusing insights into some of our ex-players! Thanks for posting it.

By the way Phil I wonder why you (a) assume that Cambridge students are necessarily "toffs" (eg the majority of them went to state schools) and (b) sound surprised that the article is "quite alright actually".

Only 10% (or fewer) of children in pre-univeristy education go to private schools, or if you prefer just over 90% are State educated and yet those who are privately educated fill around 50% of the places at Cambridge and Oxford. Take all the upper-class twits out and members of the Royal family and you'll see that if you are privately educated you stand a much better chance of going to Cambridge.

Well like the Headmaster of Harrow says (article in press y'day) these state school types really shouldn't be encouraged to go to university anyway. Best to let them know they are sh** at as early a stage as possible (I paraphrase a bit but I get what he means) the arrogant tosser.

Most amusing thing of the week was Dave's 'teachers should have a 2nd at degree level minimum' quote only to find out that his (money grasping) maths 'guru' Carol (I'm so wonderful) Voderman only has a 3rd!
