Thank goodness! We need his power up front, after watching how lightweight Mooney was on Saturday

Is this fact??? I live in Midlands so cant get SLP..........I hope its true as we need something different and when he was here before he scored a couple of important goals.

    On the OS now.
  • Despite not playing well recently, we have continued to create loads of chances. A goalscorer is critical for us right now. I hope Akpo is a lot fitter and that he can give us the boost we so urgently need.

Has to play instead of Mooney then (assuming he's fit)

woo hoo, good move but I cannot help but think we need to move someone on now now. Mooney, Burton, Sodje2, Leon and Dicko is too many strikers for us. Dicko may finally get that Jills move
  • On BBC too. Good news.

Its on the BBC as well

1324: More from our friends at the BBC regional Monday night football show Late Kick Off (Yorkshire & Lincolnshire): "Sheffield Wednesday striker Akpo Sodje has signed for Charlton Athletic on a half-season loan - that will take the 29-year-old to the end of his current contract at Hillsborough." Don't forget to tune in tonight at 2320 GMT.

    Striker - check
Centre back - you have 3 and a half hours left.

I don't see him as a natural goalscorer, but he's powerful and a nuisance. If he's the best we could get I'm happy for now. Very different to Mooney, useful having a different option.

I think he's someone more to take the strain off Burtons shoulders personally

only worth getting a CB if he's an improvement on what we have. Who would come here to be back up or who would you drop?
  • Do we think letting Omusuzi leave is paying for Akpo's salary?

Can't think of any names of the top of my head but i'm not entirely comfortable with Llera as the only back up. Dailly will need a rest at some point and Sodje will no doubt be suspended again!

Probably Posh paying towards McClown is offsetting it.

I think Omozusi off the wage bill means Sodje in.

Hopefully someone somewhere has taken Moo2 as well
  • Or moots might be going out?

If Youga is close to fitness he could cover as could Semedo or maybe even Basey.

I could be wrong here but I have a vague memory of reading somewhere that Akpo can also play centre half.
  • Maybe we'll let him start a game this time.

Maybe that lad at Bristol City to play at the back - James Wilson.

Could be a very productive window for once

*waits for it all to come crashing down around him*

I think generally, Parky has a good eye for a player.

    We've got 2 Sodje's!

Good news. Been saying for months that we'd probably sign him in the summer when he's out of contract, so instead of a 6 month loan Akpo will be playing to earn himself a full time move near to his family. Good news.

Certainly knows what he doesn't like.

Good news, hope he starts alongside Burton as they only had 35 minutes against Swindon. Could be a good partnership.
