ah ... maybe not ... according to the OS, Reid is out for the season and Herman, Thatcher, Marcus Bent, Bougherra are all doubtful...."the back four could therefore be made up of Luke Young, Osei Sankofa, Talal El Karkouri and Souleymane Diawara"

To tell you the truth I think the way the club keep us the fans informed on injuries is bloody disgusting,we only ever find out if a player is out 1/2 days before a game with no idea on how long or bad the injury is.I don't give a toss if this is normal procedure for all clubs it gets right up my conk.

That's awful news. I'm nervous enough about Sun as it is, without another makeshift defence.

I think this is down to Pardew and his positive thinking. If news of injuries to key players (ok not JFH but you get my drift) gets out then it gives the opposition a lift. I know for a fact that an article about Simon Walton's disciplinary case was pulled from the club website because Pardew felt it was negative towards Charlton.

i wouldn't want it any other way steve. i'd rather turn up and find a changed team, than turn up and find the oppo have been preparing correctly on our weaknesses all week.

Curbs thought the same way as well. I'd rather have it this way than the club leaking like a sieve, to be honest.

In all honesty, does it really matter if we know the team an hour or a week in advance of ko - there's nowt we can do about it either way. On the other hand, as AFKA says, the oppo would love to know!

Agree generally that it's as well to keep things quiet. But when it comes to a player being out for rest of season (eg Reid) I'd rather this was communicated a bit more openly.
