Ireland v Pakistan

Just seen quite possibly the worst umpiring decision in the history of cricket - one of the (ahem) 'Irish' lads given out caught when the ball missed his bat by about two foot. Not to mention the atrocious earlier decision where the ball was going six inches above and past the stumps.

Disgraceful. Just like watching appalling refereeing decisions against Charlton in fact.

  • Hasn't made any difference to Ireland though has it. Great win. Well done to the Irish boys. Pakistan are now out of the World Cup!!

Many of them appear to be playing for Ireland as a consequence of the Jack Charlton school of team selection. Either that or there is an uncanny resemblance between Australian and Irish accents that I've never noticed before.

Whatever, that's two great results in two games. for them.

A bit like the Irishman playing for England (Ed Joyce), and let's not dig too deeply into Pietersen's credentials...!

Scotland have two players in their squad who've played for England - Dougie Brown and gavin Hamilton.

But all credit to Ireland, Pakistan play a lot of one day internationals and should have comfortably won and congrats to Bangladesh for beating India.

England currently 40/0 off six overs vs Canada.

a lot of spin in cricket.you can check 'irish' and 'english' players place of birth at cricinfo.but if you can't be arsed,it would have told you that both nations are fielding four 'foreigners'.

I was just looking at Canada's squad...a mix of West Indians and Kiwis with the odd Aussie thrown in.

Why not just call them a UN team?

lol,but don't most of the 'foreigners' now reside in their adopted countries, unlike what was happening with jack charlton's 'irish' side, when all you needed to qualify was to drink a pint of guinness?
