If you ever get the chance to see Bob interviewed on the History/Military Channels don't miss it, a humble hero.

    He was once asked if he hated the Luftwaffe pilots, to which he replied

    "I didn't hate them, I just saw them as doing the same job as me but working for another firm!"

    He also said something along the lines of

    "I wasn't doing it for King & Country, I was doing it for my Mum. I just didn't want the Germans coming over here."

    A top man and along with many of his generation, someone to whom we should be eternally grateful.

    Oh crikey....yes I have seen and heard him many a time on some of the sky channels...a genuinely lovely honest unasuming man.
    RIP....Bob....you did your duty for us all .....................and more.
