Could try right clicking on the wireless icon on the toolbar at the bottom right, right click and select 'turn off notification of new networks'. Just a complete guess really, didn't want to click it in case my own wireless ballsed up!

    Ask Leroy Ambrose.He knows everything.

Or if he's not logged on, ask MoG.

    Good idea, Nathan.

You don't even need to pay for your own broadband.

It's amazing how insecure many networks are ... there are always at least half a dozen near me that I could use ... stupidly some of these people even use their surname as an identifier so I even know where they live.

And at least half of them are probably fake, advertising their 'open' status to you so that you log on, think 'oooh - free internetz' and browse to all your password protected sites, completely unaware that some fifteen year old kid is passing all your traffic through a proxy and collecting usernames & passwords for fun & profit.

If you don't use the wireless connection anywhere, just disable it (most laptops have a little button somewhere just below the screen where you can do this - if not, select the little wireless icon and find 'disable' on the menu - failing even that, open up 'Network Connections' (or whatever it's called - depending on the operating system you have it may be 'network & sharing centre' or some crap), select the wireless connection from there, right-click and select 'disable'. Of course, if you ever DO take the laptop somewhere and want to connect wirelessly, you'll need to re-enable it.
