i can only speak personally.
i have been known fondly as 'Lord Pikey' for longer than i care to remember. comes of working in the city for over 25 years.

well, pre-match nerves topped with guinness on toast adrenalin got the better of us and we made our way to the antigallican early doors, arriving at 11.00 sharp. the landlord, amiable irish fella, told me he thought we were the best fans he’d ever had in there. he loved the noise and banter and earned a small fortune out of us. i did point out to him though that it was extremely degrading for his young barmaids to have to wear such tight, skimpy costumes, exposing their tetties, bottom pipes and quimlets for all to see. it completely ruined my taking in of the villa wolves game, having to protect the dear things from continuous rude remarks and innuendo. i warned him, any repeat of such lurid, gratuitous exploitation next season and we’ll be forced to search for an alternative establishment.0

Have to be honest, lord for 3k fans there you guys were pretty quite I thought you had the odd spell. Maybe just the nerves from both sides got to both sets of fans but it wasn't the atmosphere I thought it would be. Plenty of gills in the liberal pre match all decent blokes, female gills were either over 50, chav princess' or quite honestly rough as feck. Good luck to you in your relagation battle, I wouldn't begrudge playing you again if not just to know it pees of mr scally when he sees all the valley express buses on the a2...0

we're not like portsmouth though. poor, deluded fools who believe the ridiculous hype that they are the stars of the show. we are proper football fans, there to watch a game and support our team. the atmosphere for us was brilliant, not just the singing of daft songs, more the tension, the disbelief at scoring two goals away from home, the crack. you know what i'm talking about. banter aside, i think charlton fans are quite similar to us in that sense.
anyways, all the best. sorry, but i can't see you winning promotion this year and fully expect you to slum it for a few years, just how forest and leeds and others have had to do. don't let it depress you though, will be a laugh next season - charlton, palace, millwall, gills, brighton - at least we all care about playing you, nobody in the 2nd divison does.

Thought the Gills fans were pretty good.
Not in an intimidating stand up and 90 mins singing like Brighton or to a lesser extent Millwall, more of a day out in the cup atmosphere (the away end was pretty full by 2.30)
Will soon change after you have played us for a few seasons in a row though :)0 -
they were terrible,hardly sang or anything,nice fans though very polite0

The Gills were louder in the first half and we were louder in the second.
Both sets if supporters were poor really and there wasn't much to choose between us, except for the attitudes at the end of the game when we were gutted & they wanted to cheer their team off.0 -
