Operation is set for 2pm this afternoon (so he can't even watch football scores), will post on here after the op with an update.
And RedZed333 you obviously don't know Paul because if you did you would know the most he ever has to drink is a bitter shandy!!0 -

he wouldn't know the result yet but no doubt it will make him smile, he is back in the ward but still very sleepy, as far as the nurses know the op went well, I hope someone picked him up a programme today... lol0

Not too sure - went to see him yesterday and he was sound asleep so didn't want to disturb him, howeverthe nurses said that all had gone well - specialist is not back until tomorrow but I was going to pop in tomorrowafternoon and see how he is doing, will let everyone know once I've been.0

I've just had my hip replaced. Went in on Saturday 27th Feb, They had me up the next day on a zimmer, crutches the day after and I was home by the Tuesday. The key to recovery is to get the hip working ASAP and do what the physio says. I'm able to get around without too much pain now (5 weeks on) and hence I'm going to Charlton today0 -

Physio Started today, was up in his chair yesterday and today, was a little sick this morning as bowels not working yet, however all looking good and hopefully will be sent home late this week.
Paul said thank you for all your messages and cards and he looks forward to getting back to the Valley to see everybody ASAP.0 -

Just saw this ... hope that Paul is doing well and on the fast track to recovery.
Always make sure I say hello to Paul during my overseas visits.
I've been getting the programmes for more than a decade, and Paul is one of the dedicated unsung heroes that make Charlton truly Charlton.
"Proper Charlton" was a very accurate description.

Went to see him last night and he was in good spirits and he had Sky sorted on his TV by the bed so was looking forward to watching the match last night. Paul managed to get out of his bed unaided and the physios are pleased on the whole but obviously is taking it steadily. The only real problem that he had was that when he woke up after the op it turned out the bloke in the next bed was a Millwall fan! On the whole he's doing well though and further sends his thanks for everyone's kind wishes.0

Paul is walking around on crutches quite well and has been moved to ward 17.0
