Play Off Semi Finals timing question...

Was hoping someone knowledgeable might know the answer to this...

If we end up having to play the first leg of our semi on Saturday 15th any idea what time this will be?

I've read it has to be fitted around the FA Cup Final.
I'm guessing this should mean either a 12pm or 5pm type kick off but does anyone know for sure?

For me personally 12pm would be fine but 5pm disastrous!

Why are you sure it will be early?

Sky we decide when the fixtures are known will they not?
  • page 7 of the programme from Saturday confirms the Saturday game will be 12.15pm (subject to the times being finalised when the police know who the matches involve etc)

By the looks of the news item on the Football League's website (link from ValleyGary) they have already agreed the times with Sky.

The only spanner in the works (pun intended!) could be police advice should games involve the afforementioned or Leeds

Just hope we don't have to go to Huddersfield on the friday night because i don't think you can get a train back that night. Charlton Life coach?

Think we might need 2 or 3 for that one.

What they dont tell you is what positions play what night. ie. 3v6 is friday, 4v5 is saturday or vice versa.

I cant get the half day off work on the friday if we are away.

Sky rule football these days even if League 1 doesn't much benefit from their money.

they wouldn't schedule a game for 5.15 on cup final day in case of extra time etc...

If we have Millwall are the police gonna want Friday night when people might have had a couple of pints or early Saturday morning but on cup final day?

I would think that the OB wouldnt want Chelsea/Millwall/Pompey milling around in London early doors but then again Friday night could also be carnage.

I think it give the team finishing higher a bit a slight advantage to have the away leg first then their home leg mid-week. The atmosphere will be better midweek and they'll be less away fans.

dont agree with that FOD, when play-offs come into each team should sell their away location wherever if not fail, if we dont cue ooohaah

edit- your right with the advantage btw just not about less away fans imo

If we're at Huddersfield on the friday night then i think we'd struggle to shift 4k tickets, as would they for the return leg on the Monday night.

Depends if we do an operation or not!

And yes, the team finishing higher should have a slight advantage!

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, NO OPERATIONS!

I would still be confident of selling out without the need of free coaches / trains / planes / boats / packed lunches / flasks / blankets.

Ha ha i'll agree on the poor timing but not about Butlins.

Does anyone know why they have to be crammed in to stupid nights (friday and monday) when there's then another 12 days until the final. Why can't we play the 1st leg on the 15th, the 2nd leg on the 22nd and then the final on the 29th. Sell outs for both legs, no one having to book time off work to travel on a friday/monday night and still a week after the 2nd leg to sell final tickets.
