theyre fine. and everybody can manage them. who cares as long as everybody is making noise pretty much non-stop. we should boo whenever swindon get possession like we did when we beat west ham 4-0. just hustle their players and get behind Charlton. Tomorrow is massive for us we all know if we don't go up we could be deep in the sh*t. players need to play like their lives depend on it and we need to reflect that.

As much as it's a laugh on away trips and a hark back to the "gold old days"

No Clive Mendonca, Andy Hunt, Chrissy Powell, Rufus, Johnny Robinson etc. songs

Let's stick to players on the pitch - Semedo, Bailey, Burton, Forster etc. Poor old Chrissy Powell can't do a bit to help us now, it's up to the eleven we've got.

And no we sent the palace down, i know we dont hear it much nowdays but it still gets sung occasionaly, and whenever we do sing it we generally mess up on the pitch.

Seconded. And it's only appropriate when sung at Norwich anyway. And even then it isn't funny.

I hate EIEIEO, for some reason it really irritates me and the only time I want to hear it is at Wembley if promotion is sealed. I know it is popular.

Need more songs for the players playing starting with the Deon Burton- Charlton's number 10 song! Also there's only one Lloyd Sam and more of the Bailey one!

Need VFR to be played before the game though!

dan do me a favour learn the words to the old ones mate they are so much better and create a more hostile atmosphere.

Charlton's NO 10 & There's only one Lloyd Sam christ almighty. Shakes his head in disbelief

Back in the 80's the "you're sh.t,- aaaaah" when the goalie did his run up used to make me cringe.
Now I smile at a bygone age when I hear it.

the only reason i said red army and cafc will do anyway is cos theyre about the only chants that 3/4 of the ground are ever likely to get involved in, id prefer to sing other stuff but i think 15,000 doing red army is a better atmosphere to get the players up for it than 2,000 singing a palace fan on a string, so needs must...

Don't see what the problem is with the new ones including Deon Burton Charlton's number 10 (full song on other song for tomorrow thread). Some songs are cringeworthy but surely it is good to mix them up a bit and have some new ones. It is not about not knowing the words to the old ones, just a case of variety. Also we need to get behind the current players so surely having a new song for Deon or Forster (the Andy Hunt Tinny one for example) is better than singing about Johnny Robinson.

why johnny robinson is the type of player who would never have seen us playing in this feckin league.

True but tomorrow night, I personally do not see the point in singing about past players. On other occassions it is fine and great to see them being remembered and acknowledged. But tomorrow it is about the 11 players in Red. Imho surely it would be of benefit and would help the confidence of players like Lloyd Sam to hear the fans singing his name, rather than the odd time when he is subbed.

His hold-up play is next to none... Deon Deon,
He gets the ball and scores for fun... Deon Deon,
He's big, he's black, he's five foot ten,
He gets the ball, you can't defend,
He's Deon Burton charlton's number ten!
    BOUNCE LALALALALALALALALA

    Get it done!

I think "Goodbye horse" is crap and that's an historical song. Doesn't mean it's any less crap than CAFC or red Army (i still sing it by the way).
