Henry jnr dropped his DS Lite and now the lower screen in blank although it is still functioning ie when you touch it something happens on the top screen.

Can they be fixed and if so where?

If not, what's the best replacement? DSi, another DS Lite or something else entirely.

If you are using a R4 card for games, then best get a ds lite.

Could be a loose connection. Could be that it needs a new screen. If you are going to replace it with a DS Lite get a pre-owned one from game or game station. Wasnt sure that my daughter would use one so didnt want to pay full price. Paid £60.00 and got 1 year warranty. If you dont mind spending a few quid get an XL got the wife a DS XL for her birthday. Screens are bigger and better.

If they have been bought within the last year, you should be able to take them back to the place you got them, & get them looked at. If not, find a local CEX(Computer Exchange) or GAME shop, or Gamestation, & they may be able to help, or at least point you even further in the right direction.

There are specialist computer/console/games shops around still, such as one on Stonecot Hill, in Sutton, called 'The Stock Xchange', & one in Clapham Junction, & there are more around.

Its worth looking at some of the ebay console & game shops & checking their locations, if they have a premises, etc & if they offer some sort of repair service.

    hopefully he'll never be a "proper gamer" : - )

The Wii and a DS for the car is enough

Do not get the XL. The new next gen handheld by Nintendo comes out next year, compatible with DS games, gamecube graphics and 3d screen.
