Anyone got a wikipedia account? Could change the page on Paul McCartney to include his interest in the club.

Got more chance of a semolina pilchard climbing up the Eiffel tower than McCartney taking us over.

To be fair we wouldn't be the only hobbling cash drain that he's gotten involved with.

Paul McCartney takes a special interest in football now, since his son George became a pro footballer, playing for Sunderland and West Ham. FACT!

Nice one Pilchard! If it was you? A gem of a rumour. Absolutely hilarious! :-D

The fact that it's gone around a few places, & then been started as a brand new thread, in all seriousness/naivity by another fan, makes it even more hilarious!

Football-Rumours, for a number of years, has always had an overwhelming whiff of a cows innards, & items displayed there are to be taken with a large dash of Sodium. This just shows it hasn't really changed.

I'd tell him to jump on his Jet and Get Back where he belongs. Maybe it's his ex whose really buying us, after all she lives in Robertsbridge now - on the Valley Express route from Hastings.

Maybe she feels we need a leg-up?

Doh! Sorry, that was bad, I know!(Head hung in shame)

Macca's an Everton fan so our joint venture with Liverpools reserves could scupper the deal even at this late stage. If it goes through, expect a new version of 'I should have known better' in a couple of weeks.....
  • Based on painful past experience, if Macca did buy Charlton then the club wouldn't be buying any one-legged wide players.

Can we afford to get Alexei Smertin back?
Oh no - he is Back In the USSR.
  • Apparently if the takeover goes through Macca will be looking to bring some of our former Premiership players to replace some of the existing squad to take us back to glory.

He stated that he's been a keen follower of the Addicks and believes that our problems started when "Euell say Goodbye and Izzle Say Hello"

    Luke Varney played for Quorn!

Quorn makes great non-greasy Spag Bol.

Anyway, McCartney has made a fortune from music - you could say he's earned his quorn.
