hi, though i'd be friendly and join this board. Been watching CAFC for about 26 years now and have also converted my Australian girlfriend from rugby to football to cafc season ticket holder!

Sadly we're not going to be here for Man City game as we're going to Lille, has anyone been there before? Can anyone recommend a good bar to watch the game?

Saw Oasis in Lille a couple of years ago.

My only recommendation is that you stay on the train and go to Paris.

Clapham, welcome to the site. If anything doesn't make sense, feel free to send me a whisper. There are a couple of posts in the troubleshooting category that may be of help.

Went to Lille last year, lovely little town, much nicer than i was expecting. Streets around the old town are nice, as is the main square. Can't recommend a bar for football, Bar Oz in the old town may be your best bet.

    Hi Clapham,

Good to have another fellow west londoner in the forum!

Sorry, like the rest it would appear, i can't help either.

    Enjoy Lille though!
  • been to paris twice, great city, looking forward to some good drinking and a shortish train journey, should set us up nicely for the reading home game on our return!

Welcome Dood. This place appears to show "le foot" but heaven knows if you'll get to watch Charlton!:

    Le Scotland Fire

As AFKA points out, try cafe oz:

    Cafe Oz

"Cafe Oz is the bigger of the English pubs in Lille. The staff is mostly Australian and it's more of a party atmosphere. Most of the mixed drinks are a little expensive, but they load them with alcohol, so you won't need too many. My favorite is the King Brown, which is kahlua, Bailey's, and some other stuff."

If they don't show it, they may be able to help find one that does.
  • cheers for the info guys,

cafe oz was one i'd read about so we'll prob enquire there first. Good site Sco, might have to get my old french text book out to translate some of those pub reviews!
